Hari Raya Bazaar 2007 (Part 2 of 2)

continuation from Part 1

The thing is we came late to Geylang as the big sister got issues lah, thus we were late. You need to be early to get seats, to break your fast in Geylang.

So we waited for the earlier batch who came to the hawker place to leave. We just idle around drinking first, before we got our seats

Mmmm I was looking forward to dinner in fact, as this is the first time I’m eating food outside of NTU. After awhile, you just get sick of the food in school.

For dinner, we ordered rice plus the dishes. Chicken, veggies and squid, the basic. This in fact, is making me hungry eh as I’m writing this down

raya07-9.jpg

We took our time to enjoy the food, while baby Aisah wasn’t that hungry. She was more interested in the drinks. Anything with sugar, she’s crazy over it.

She was gazing intently at the drinks often when we were feeding her

raya07-10.jpg

After dinner, we went in search of Hari Raya clothing for baby Aisah. We call it ‘Baju Kurung’. We finally settled for a store after walking around. We didn’t buy from the bazaar. I think it’s all about the good vibes. Sometimes store gives you a certain kind of feeling. I would usually shop in a place, that I feel ‘right’ or comfortable only

Walking around, I find it hilarious that the bazzar are selling cars. Yes cars people! Hey, maybe the Muslims are truly generous with their wallets during this holy month

raya07-11.jpg

The funny thing, with all the Baju Kurung baby Aisah tried on, she can’t fit through the collar as her head was too big! Hahaha. That was cute. Finally we found some Baju Kurung that fits her big jendul head

Trying out some Baju Kurung

Uuurggh, then my little sister decided she wanted to buy Baju Kurung too. Hiazz, why does it take so long for girls to choose and settle for clothing. I could feel my knee creaking with ache standing and waiting. Truly I’m getting old, patience running low too as you aged hur …

raya07-12.jpg

After our shopping session, we emersed ourselves in the bazaar. Didn’t migle much, well I can’t stay for long anyway, as it was getting late and I don’t want to miss the last shuttle bus to NTU or I’ll need to walk back home for 45minutes. We got ourselves some drinks and deng deng sweet meat, which is similar to the Chinese Bakua

raya07-13.jpg

Off we went to City Hall via the bus before I parted ways at the train. Baby Aisah knew I was leaving, now she was less shy and let me kiss her all over gladly without any hesitation. She said bye with a tinge of sadness to it and I left west bound to Boon Lay. It was a simple dinner and a simple meet-up.
Family sticks together

Readers, hows your preperation for Hari Raya?

hey just to let u know, kids have no memory until the age of 5. so u have to constantly interact with her for her not to ‘forget’ u. which was why i think she was not comfortable meeting u recently since u haven’t been seeing her for so long already!

    • Uncle Sha October 11, 2007 at 6:53 am - Reply

ahhh but no memory at all? i think we recall bits & parts right when we were younger

Kuih – bought, now left to dip in choc sauce!

House – my room is done, rest of the house almost!
Sajian – my mum cooking now! i smell only…. =)
Baju raya – no new ones
    Shoes – as above
    Handbag – as above
    Accessories – as above

Best thing, if later i break fast succesfully, then it’s a full month for me!! Yayyy!!

On another note, uncle sha, reading abt ur niece gives me a bitter-sweet feeling inside. I pray and hope you will be able to be with Lil Aisah as she grows up. I can’t start to imagine how you must have felt when she was initially shy of you. Though she warmed up gradually, but that’s just a small reminder of what may happen again. She’s a cute and smart one. Ok uncle? =)
