Single does not equate to loneliness

Every time I go out, there will be times I’ll bump into an old friend, clients or colleagues. We would exchange the usual pleasantries and most often if not all the time they’ll ask if I’m still single.

Well its a pretty harmless question right but the moment I mentioned that I still am, there’s a certain glint in their eye and demeanor that to me interprets “Awwww … keep on searching pal, you won’t be lonely any time soon with your Bollywood looks”

Ok the last part was a total crap of course. I look much better looking than Hritik Roshan. Think AR Badul, haha just kidding. But the impression I get coming off this exchange is that being single means that you’re lonely

That’s far from the truth for me that is. Yes my last serious relationship seems like ages ago but I don’t harp on my relationship status at all. I don’t go out looking for it, advertising on my defunct Friendster or FaceBook status as “Looking for a relationship”. I mean if it happens it will happen

The means for an opportunity to a healthy relationship I believe should be effortless and that was my downfall the last time round. I was trying too hard, and I was too much of an oxymoron. I’ve to thank for those experiences as I’ve learned to love and handle myself better now

I am at a point at a time in my life where I’ve decided not wanting to make a sexual commitment with anybody yet. I’m free to see whoever I want whenever I want now and that’s what I truly seek. So for the last time being single has nothing to do with being lonely

I think its true when certain close friends of mine said I’m very ‘picky’ these days. I refuse to settle for someone less that what I expect or deserve. But then again am I that high in ‘commodity’ in terms of boyfriend and relationship material?

Hahaha. Well I’ll let you readers know in the near future when I’ll ask my girlfriend to co-blog about it. Deal!
