Nicole broke up with Matt months ago and is now engaged to someone else. He’s very good-looking and has no trouble finding other lovers, but that doesn’t help because he’s still obsessed with wanting her back. Then he gets the inspiration that swearing off sex for Lent (all forms of sexual activity, even kissing or masturbation) will give him the perspective he needs. So of course a few days later he meets a woman and they fall in love. Now Matt sees his vow as a personal matter, and won’t even tell her about it, but his friends think otherwise, and now the complications begin.
What Uncle Sha learned
I think today’s movie ain’t a chick-flick lah, the main lead is a dude, not a woman.
Anyway the friend who recommended this film is a guy anyway, maybe he got it wrong perhaps.
Well I watched it anyway, and will consider it part of the chick-flick project, as it does have the usual moral content.
I didn’t know Josh Harnett was staring, nor what to expect of the storyline.
One thing is for sure, I’ve never seen so many tits in one viewing, and all the girls in the film are so hawt!
It goes to show that “40 Days and 40 Nights” is truly not a chick-flick.
Overall I hate the ending, men are depict as pigs in the movie, the character Nicole is such a bitch, and I got aroused too many times looking at all those bare-bodies ladies.
However the film does brings out a good question, how much of love is actually infatuation, physical, chemical, or just just …
And how much of casual sex factors sways in one’s relationship.
At the end of the day, I believe it’s the ladies who holds the ‘power’ in a relationship. Just refuse us guys any sexual activities and favors, and we’re at your beckon call, willing to do anything for our ‘fix’.
Anyway the character Matt who was on a sexual abstinence did spark an idea in me.
What if I were to go on a vow of no sexual activity for 40 days and 40 nights myself.
This might just be my next project after this 30 chicks flicks in 30 days!
