Synopsis
Sixty-three year old Harry has a reputation for dating girls a third his age. Taking Marin, his latest belle, back to her beach house for the weekend he is taken aback when her mother Erica unexpectedly turns up. Suffering a heart attack while romancing Marin, Harry finds himself housebound with Erica his nurse and only companion. As they grudgingly get to know each other something starts to stir, though as the hospital doctor who treated him has taken a shine to Erica, Harry could have serious competition.
What Uncle Sha learned
Watching Jack Nicholson is always fun, with his ever constant unique facial expression, and funny groans.
As for Diane Keaton, at 57-years-old when the film was made, she’s a picture of grace and beauty.
The movie however is a hit-and-miss for me.
I love the characters, so much depth and totally endearing, but the storyline is disjointed.
Somehow all the jigsaw to the script doesn’t fit, there’s certain subplots that’s not explained, or scenes totally unrelated that’s put in instead.

Is it just me, or after watching so many chick-flicks I noticed kissing scenes between ‘old’ people are rather stiff.
Do we as we get into our twilight years, does our lips get less supple perhaps, maybe our body mechanics just ain’t that limber anymore, haha.
If one thing that the film taught me, matters of the heart ignores one’s age.
No matter how old or young you are, one is always at the peril of a heartbreak or the joy of being in love.
When in love, never ever settle for the ‘safe’ choice.
