This tale of love and values unfolds in the class-conscious England of the late 18th century. The five Bennet sisters – including strong-willed Elizabeth and young Lydia – have been raised by their mother with one purpose in life: finding a husband. When a wealthy bachelor takes up residence in a nearby mansion, the Bennets are abuzz. Amongst the man’s sophisticated circle of friends, surely there will be no shortage of suitors for the Bennet sisters. But when Elizabeth meets up with the handsome and – it would seem – snobbish Mr. Darcy, the battle of the sexes is joined.
What Uncle Sha learned
That’s two brilliant film in two nights.
Yesterday it was “As Good As It Gets”, while today earlier I thoroughly enjoyed “Pride & Prejudice”.
I might say there’s a few adaptation on-screen about the movie I’m highlighting today.
A search on IMDB itself conjures some 13 titles … and well I chose the 2005 edition as it has Keira Knightley for one.
Being a dude here, yes I must admit she’s really hawt, but there’s just something captivating every time she smiles.
Rather than fixing her teeth, I might add that her ‘imperfections’ adds character to her already radiating beauty.
Her incisor teeth very much reminds of my own in fact, haha.
I don’t pretend to know the Old English language, nor have I read Jane Austen’s “Pride & Prejudice”.
At times I’ve to rewind a few scenes as I couldn’t understand the difficult figurative language, but nonetheless, this movie adaptation has such a grip on my attention.
Never has it been so fun to watch about a family trying to marry off their daughters, and there were five sisters in this movie.
I just love how everyone calls each other by their first name.
Lizzy was such a teaser, while Jane is too pretty for her own good, there’s the constant frowning Mary, and the inseparable Lydia and Kitty who are always up to their mischief.
I would think many guys could really relate to the always seen uptight Mr.Darcy. Pride and Prejudice was set in ther Georgian era, and a few millennium later, things never change for us dudes.
Don’t try to rationale or comprehend our action, sometimes guys display the odd and worst behaviour and response if they happen to like or in the presence of the girl of their fancy.
Now I know why this film is much beloved by chicks, as it was truly a wonderful movie, and the sparks really flew on-screen with the characters. The ensemble cast really did a convincing job with their roles
