Project Sha review
I always love Sentosa and I love its sandy white beaches. Well this is a fun event where I get to dip in the water and run afterwards.
To be precise a biathlon race whereby participants paddle out to sea with the surf board followed by a run in rugged terrain on the sunny island, Sentosa
This biathlon-like event has heightened the difficulty level for participants this year with a 300m paddle out to sea and back on a surfboard followed by a 3km run which brings them through dragon trail, merlion walk, central beach and the beach path.
Taking place at Sentosa as most happening Sunset Bay, the 10th annual event is getting bigger in scale and more exciting than its former glories.
At press time, we were told that a grand total of 1,400 participants registered for the event and almost all turned up for it.
The participants and high profile games events rippled off public interest, totaling traffic of approximately 3,000 beach goers and local holiday makers to grace the occasion
How did Sha performed
Well surprisingly i did quite well, 5th in Closed category and 2nd in Open category. I was unhappy with the time-keeping though. There was big discrepancies.
My watch clocked faster on both occasion compared to the event timing. This is not the first time it has happened and I hope the organiser will look into this
5th - Mens Closed- 16:10
2nd - Mens Open – 16:21
