Still the underlying importance of it is the possibility that bone marrow could cure AIDS.
Some 33 million people all over the world are affected by the horrible disease. And if such gene therapy could cure it, that’s great news right!
So far three of such reported case have similar results, no more AIDS for the patients. But doctors are saying such a ‘miracle’ happened as both the donor and patient was compatible, and the donor carries an extremely rare double HIV resistant mutation in his genes.
Still its a good start and gives hopes to the millions out there for a cure.
The more I think about it, if AIDS is indeed eradicated, I would predict people would be more promiscuous. Haha yes it would!
STD, gonorrhoea and syphilis would still be around, but with AIDS & HIV out of the way, the ‘flesh industry’ would get a boost in its clientèle and we would have more boom-boom which equate to more babies. Hell yes assay, I would do it more often too!
