I live by four simple commandments in my life.
Yes I do have my own commandments, nah its not religious related lah but more of a balanced mind and body.
I didn’t add the soul part to the last line there, this one, well its up to an individual to have their own faith on how to go about it.
1. Eat Right – You want to look good and pretty, simple, just take note of what you put through your mouth. Some of the biggest mistake people make is doing plenty of exercises and neglecting your diet. I’m not asking you to starve, I binge on sugar and fat too but in moderation. Yes it was hard at first adjusting, but it gets easier as my body accept the new nutritions.
2. Sleep Right – At first it was a struggle for me to sleep early, I kept on extending my hours, but I finally forced myself and with that readjusted my body clock nicely. It’s usually lights out by midnight for me and if I don’t lie down by then, I would be totally drowsy. I won’t even notice if any Makciks take advantage of me by then :p … Again, our body is a sophisticated and complicated ‘vessel’. If you put the right factors in motion, it will do as you plan. Drink your milk, floss your teeth and 6-7 hours of sleep daily now people.
3. Work Right – Working for most people takes up a major bulk of our life. So to be truly happy at what you’re doing I believe brings meaning to fulfillment in life. To have a purpose, to know you’re contributing to something important and be rewarded for your hard work is essential. Take up that job you’ve always wanted that might pay lesser or lack the benefits, but in the long run, you’ll be happier. Trust me, I know!
4. Train Right – Sometimes people get all the wrong idea about workouts. You don’t need to be Rambo or Arnie or an aerobic freak to be fit. It’s all about goal setting and doing the training slightly above your normal comfort zone. Consistency is another keyword too, Yes you do have to stink and sweat, but nothing beats having a great bod and knowing you turns heads as you parade down Orchard Road.
Well hope my commandments are of help. If it doesn’t, you’re doing it wrong, go fly a kite or something.
