The other day I was in the bus. It was filling up with people and a school boy decided to sit beside me. I was minding my own business looking out the window, but I couldn’t help noticed the boy’s smell
He was wretched stinking of cigarette odor. It was quite strong and for him to be sitting beside me, woah the stench was tak boleh tahan
Even though I had two stops to go, I immediately left my seat unoccupied and stood at the door. I took a glimpse at his face as I passed by him and he looked no older than 14 or 15 years old
Nothing wrong being a smoker of course, you lead your own life with the decision and perils of it, but at such a young age and already a heavy smoker, assuming from all that stench … well that’s just so sad
For one we have an underage smoker, who probably get his older friends to buy him the cigarettes he needed, and secondly, health wise, don’t get me started on that
The media I truly believe the media such as movies and TV has created this image of coolness that’s associated with smoking. It’s the devil … that’s why I won’t have any such television when I have my own place or kids
Yes that may sound ignorant to cocoon or shield your kids from the facets of life, but at least get them older and wiser first before exposing to such vices. And I’ll then leave it to them to decide what’s good or bad.
Also role models and communication at home plays a big part in family life. Albeit coming from a dysfunctional family, at least my parents doesn’t smoke and its a strong underlying unspoken message I took upon when I was a kid, not to smoke myself.
Also knowing that if I do smoke and got caught, and the thought of my mum beating the crap out of me, well that’s another added ‘incentive’ not to smoke :p
Yes I do experiment when I was a kid, such as comparing your weener with other boys in primary school but not smoking. Never in life have I ever wondered or curious what’s its like to take a puff. It just didn’t cross my mind to try it
My advice, if you want a much better ‘quality’ of life, you’ve to make drastic changes in your life. It’s really up to ya …
