Why you need this supplement
I use this to build my lean muscles! Whey proteins are highly digestible and have a better amino acid profile even than egg whites. Let me say that again: whey protein has the highest biological value of any protein. It’s absorbed, utilized and retained better. This higher biological value makes whey more tissue sparing, making it a benefit to people as they diet, age, overtrain or have illnesses or disease.
It assists in recovery from athletic activity and may contribute to bone cell growth. It is not only for bodybuilder but potentially strengthening all the bones in the aging human body. Aside from the tissue repair qualities found in other proteins, whey protein is an immune system enhancer – it boosts the body’s ability to fight infection and in some studies has been shown to even inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
My recommendation usage
30 grams of whey protein a day is all you need for a start for a stronger you! To encourage a positive nitrogen balance, consume approximately 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day from a combination of high protein foods and supplements. For even better results, consume your daily protein allotment over 4-6 small meals spread evenly throughout the day.
Filtration issues
First and foremost: regarding filtration methods – you’ve seen all these, right?… and they’re driving you nuts? Ultra-filtration, ion-exchange, micro-filtration, cross-flow filtration, but basically it’s all the same.
What DOES make a difference? Is it cold processed, or has the protein been damaged by heat processing? Cold processing is good, and somewhat rare; you’re going to pay a little more for it.
Is it hydrolyzed? While the suggestion on the label is that this is good, in fact, this is an acid process that destroys the bonus factors of the whey protein.
What to Look for in a Whey Protein supplement
There’s not much difference in the quality of wheys currently, and the only difference that really matters is if the protein is processed using high heat, which denatures the protein and decreases the protein value.
Most whey concentrate is about the same in terms of quality, so if anyone tries to tell you that their whey protein is better than another, unless it’s cold processed (as Bomber Blend is) it turns out it’s just not true.
What’s important is the quantity of protein, then the other added ingredients – these are what make a powder better or worse than the other hundreds on the market.
Manufacturer Description
Optimum 100% Whey Protein won the Supplement Of The Year and Protein Powder Of The Year award for 2005 and 2006! Since the very beginning, Optimum Nutrition has raised the standard by which all other whey protein supplements are judged. 3. We’ve included more HydroWhey strategically hydrolyzed, low molecular weight whey peptides to make ON’s 100% Whey Gold Standard even faster acting!
4. ON’s 100% Whey Gold Standard now contains lactase and Aminogen digestive enzymes to further enhance absorption and make this product even more friendly to lactose intolerant individuals.
5. ON’s 100% Whey Gold Standard is instantized to mix easily and completely with just a few twirls of a spoon.
6. Every serving supplies even more low, moderate, and high molecular weight, biologically active whey protein microfractions including Alpha-lactalbumin, Glycomacropeptides, Beta-Lactoglobulin, Immunoglobulin G (IgG), Lactoferrin, Lactoperoxidase, and various growth factors.
7. Over 4 grams of glutamine and glutamine precursors as well as 5 grams of BCAAs (Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine) in each scoop!

Hi Sha, are you still taking ON as your supplements?
I was thinking using it too, but i want to know if it’s halal?
Hi Romico,
I’m using other supplement now.
But if you’re looking for halal confirmation by certification and such, then its hard to find such supp.
My definition of halal for whey protein is as long there’s no pork in the ingredient.
ON is good supp for beginners.
:)
Yes, getting a halal certification for supp is hard unless the product is from a muslim country.
Anyway, any supp that has no animal product except cheese, eggs or milk of course, can be consume by any muslim, right? So ON is safe, since it has no animal product as their ingredient.
So what supp are you taking now?
Yes ON is ‘halal’ in my eyes.
You can try the online forums if you wish, but I think they’ll also say the same thing :)
I’m using whey isolate, much ‘purer’ & concentrated than whey protein, AST VP2. Much pricier, but worth it.
I started with bulk building with whey protein and moved on to whey isolates. It makes my cutting more obvious. Trust me it works, never fails to get compliment on my abs and cutting :)
sha. how much do u purchase your whey? does it helps? coz usually after i go to the gym,it takes me 3-4 days to be bck to normal from the strains.
Hi Farn,
I bought all my supp from http://www.tsw.com.sg
Yes it does help and you need whey for muscle building and recovery.
After gym my body also ache, but I’m back training as usual the next day.

http://al-sistani.org/local.php?lang=en&modules=nav&nid=2&bid=53&pid=2816
And it is stated that WHEY PROTEIN IS HALAL.
Hope this helps.
