I was looking through Eastbay website for the first-time ever in the longest time since I last bought my last pair of spikes, which is like donkey years ago.
Well I was just curious on what’s the latest spikes model out there for sprinting.
Most of us sprinters usually get our spikes via online or asking someone who’s overseas to buy it for us in the States, Europe or Japan.
There’s where all the rad spikes are. Singapore stores does sell sprinting spikes, but the selection is sparse.

My old spikes model, I do still have, its still in good condition.
I myself have comfortably worn one type of spikes in my whole of running ‘career’, Asics Cybersprint. To deviate a bit this blog is ranked top spot for the keyword for asics cybersprint by the way at Google, quite surprising.
Anyway I tried searching for my old spike model at the site, sadly its not being sold anymore at Eastbay. It’s a good spike, I truly like the hard sole and strapping my spikes up rather then tying it with laces.
Usually the brand to look out for when buying spikes are Nike, Adidas, Asics and Mizuno. Many top Asian sprinters are using Mizuno, being they sponsor them obviously and Mizuno is a Japanese sportswear company.
While most sprinters goes for the commercial look of Nike, I do agree they do have the best looking spikes around, but you can also find a gem of a spike in the more non-popular brands such as Puma.
But choosing the right spikes for youself is an art. Just take a look at this Nike Zoom Mawler below.

I heard the plate for Mawler ain’t that good.
Looks great right, priced at US$139 you might think the expensive price tag would reflect its quality, but if you look through the inventory of other spikes, you might find other similar spikes with same features or better ones even at lower price.
You should know before-hand if the spikes suits your feet type such as if you’re having high arches or if your feet is wide. Look at the given dimensions online and always seek expert opinions at running forums first.
Hope the few tips here helps eh!
Blimey I do miss sprinting. The closest I got to this was chasing down daily my shuttle bus.
