I was kinda pumped to blog about the recent two semifinal matches of the Champion League this week
The first was Liverpool vs Chelsea. I got my prediction wrong as I thought it will be a win for the Reds, but it was a draw. The Reds has a great track record in Europe in part due to Rafa Benitez experience in such competitions but he lost home court advantage for the win to go into the second leg. And plus they have a goal deficit to make up for when Chelsea scored at The Kop for the away goal advantage. Liverpool have to win at Stamford Bridge or a draw with more than two goals at least if Chelsea don’t score. If they do, do the Math lah. Anyway I would like to see Liverpool in the finals than Chelsea, as I would rather slit my wrist than to see manager Avram undertaker face yet again
The second match is Barcelona vs Manchester United. I’m quite perplex how Barca is having domestic trouble when in Europe they played so exquisitely. They have soccer stars that just roll off the tongue like Messi, Henry, Zambrotta, Xavi … Yesterday the Nou Camp saw the home team dominating most of the play, but Red Devil defence held firm. I was rather annoyed Ronaldo was denied the second penalty. He was in the clear and have nothing to lose by diving when the defender barrage into him. Yes I also agree Barca should be given the penalty when Brown nipped at one of the Barca player in the box. Well that’s football. At least my favorite team Man United is still in the game and I can’t wait for the second leg
In my facebook account, I’ve added this Champion League application which ask for soccer predictions. On my part so far out of the 6 matches, I predicted 5 out 6 correct predictions. Muahaha, I’m that good. Well the next matches here’s my prediction. Liverpool will win (vs Chelsea) and Man Utd will win too (vs Barcelona)
