Of Manchester United and Soccer Bloggers

Sha June 7, 2007 18

It’s been awhile since I blogged about my beloved soccer, here’s one to update all you Manchester United fans and haters of their progress.

We’re champion of English Premier League and with that, as they say it will be more harder to stay at the top rather than getting to the top.

But first, I think only a few of my blogger friends are soccer fans. So few, maybe bloggers are not big soccer fan. Holler in here if I’ve missed you out ok. Here’s a breakdown

Recently Manchester United, arguably the best soccer club in the world (keke I bet other soccer bloggers may not agree, open for discussion) has made their summer purchase.

One defensive midfielder and two youngster to replace the ‘old guard’ Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes

Owen Hargreaves

owen-hargreaves.jpg

We bought Owen Hargreaves from Bayern Munich for a reported £17m transfer fee after years of trying to bring him over to United. Formerly Owen enjoyed an illustrious 10 seasons at Bayern, winning six league titles and the 2001 Champions League.

Finally come this July 1st, he will be officially be a Red Devil and his class will stamp all over United midfield.

Why is Owen Hargreaves so important for the next EPL season? Well Hargreaves is a holding midfielder, although Micheal Carrick currently alternate that role with Darren Fletcher, bringing Hargreaves in will likely result in better fluidity and slickness in passing.

We truly missed Roy Keane’s legendary ferocity in the middle of the park when he quit the team, let’s hope Owen will bring an added unique contribution to the midfield.

Anderson formerly of Porto

Anderson 19 years old hails from Brazil. He’s more of a playmaker rather than a winger. Think of Ronaldinho if you’re wondering what type of midfielder he is.

This former player of the tournament in the 2005 World Under-17 Championships, has even been called up to the Brazilian national squad! I believe with him around there will be smoother attacks, Anderson will dictated the midfield with super quick pace of Portugese football.

Nani formerly of Sporting Lisbon

nani_sporting.jpg

I must say I don’t know much about Nani. I don’t really follow the Portugese League but he’s touted and labeled as the next ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’.

A midfielder at aged 20 years old, he possess talent with sublime pace and skills who will eventually replace Giggs when he finally retires. We got him for around £14m. Nani is an exciting talent indeed. Portugese side has been known to produce great attacking midfielder like Luis Figo, Simao Sabrosa and Ricardo Quaresma.

With Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani, both on the flanks, it will be exciting to watch how the EPL unravels next season

So ladies I hope that insightful. If you’ve a boyfriend crazy over soccer, use the above info I’ve mentioned and impress them

Hey, I’m Man Utd fans here. With the signings Man Utd made recently, it’s definitely going to get alot more exciting than last season. Can’t wait to see Nani and Ronaldo weaving their magic down the flanks and Anderson scoring goals!

Hmm… I’m resisting the temptation to write some nasty stuff here!!!

But I must say, Sir Alex definitely start off earlt this season. Must be pretty worried that the old guards are (duh) getting older and need replacements. Abled replacements. No doubt the signings are note-worthy. Hargreaves will probably displace Carrick as the first choice in midfield unless Carrick is deployed as an attacking mid. Anderson to replace Scholes and Nani to replace Giggs I guess. However I believe Sir Alex will give Nani and Anderson one or half a season to gel in. But a quartet of Nani, Hargreaves, Anderson and Ronaldo, with Rooney in the hole is a force to reckon.

Other clubs have been relatively quiet on th etransfer front. Interestingly there’s a huge rumour that Henry might switch Emirates for Anfield. Hmmm… a mouth watering prospect!

just say it bro … i’m ok with comments good or bad

the things is, the 2 of 3 players bought we’ve been tracking for a long time … i think getting the title helped in our cause

carrick is an ok player, but he has no presence, good for subs

henry going to liverpool, now thats exciting … go manu lagi better kan
