It’s finally here!
The World Cup starts later in the day when the opening match will be of the home-team South Africa versus the Mexican.
Sorry waka-waka fans, even though you have home ground advantage, I would say Mexico would win this match. They just have too much firepower in the team.
Officially as of today expect plenty of World Cup entries on my blog for the coming weeks eh. So we start off the article line-up with the topic on the World Cup Ball.
There’s an on-going debate that the soccer ball being used is of different make, it’s much harder to handle, and have a ‘life’ of its own, meaning it’s been know to swerve randomly!
The World Cup will soon kick off in South Africa though most Americans will remain oblivious to it. As Anthony Mason reports, there’s already debate over the ball being used.
Adidas did admits that the ball does travel faster at higher altitudes which means the goalie will have to be more wary in-front of goal. This could of course translate in more goal scores eh, that sure would be interesting for the fans.
Of course this is not the first time that there has been a controversy of the World Cup Ball. As with past drama, the World Cup goes on, the winning team usually focus on the game, and adapt to the new changes without much whining.
And please women all over the World, don’t be surprise if you’re somewhat ignored during this trying yet exciting period we guys call the World Cup mania.
