Its been awhile since i updated but its a really busy 2 weeks.
I had a couple of tests, club agenda and most tiring of all … training!
I just loved these two weeks as I’ve been pushing beyond my own limit
Just today i squatted 185kg, a new PB and a couple of new weight limits
As each passing day, running wise I’m improving my fitness.
I used to clock 7 minute plus for 2.4km but ever since i gone into track training my fitness dropped so as i can gain my speed.
My last IPPT two months ago was 9.09 minute
Now I’m trying to get the best of both world.
Speed in track and stamina in endurance training.
It will be tough year but I’m geared for the challenge
I’m going into the right direction.
I’ve purposely dropped my weight & mass. Leaner but stronger.
I could carry heavier, run faster now compared when i was more muscular
Here’s my NAPFA test result for which i took at Bukit Gombak recently.
Situp 59.
Standing broad jump 270cm,
sit & reach 47cm,
shuttle run 9.7s,
pullup 15 &
2.4km 8.25 minute.
I’m hoping to break the 8.10 minute barrier in April NAPFA test … woohooo!
On Monday i went to Dragon Boat Poly50 training. Sid asked me to join and i was happy to be back wearing the dragon boat outfit.
Its been awhile and i found most of them are young blood.
Quite a few of the “old school” rowers have left … sigh
My left ankle & calf was aching that day from my previous weights training, i had to tell myself not to go all out during Poly50 training.
I felt bad doing so but i know if i were to push I’ll probably get injured
The new Spore Poly dragonboat team has future.
I can see some of them really committed during training.
And this year we have more gals, plus some of them are cute too!
Ok until my next blog … happy holidays to all Muslim on Hari Raya Haji tomorrow!
