Sprint Challenge: Bodybuilder vs Sprinter

Here’s the story, one fine day a bodybuilder proclaimed he’s the fastest man on Earth after his 40 yard dash which he did for fun was clocked at 4.1 seconds. The 4.1 seconds clocked is indeed a world class timing.

So he laid down a 60m sprint challenge to any world class sprinter who can beat him. And a sprinter did came forward to take up the challenge. Well want to know who won?

Bodybuilder Profile: Kevin Levrone – He is an IFBB professional bodybuilder. He is noted in the bodybuilding world for his long bellied triceps and well-developed delts. Kevin Levrone never won a Mr. Olympia contest despite his reputation as the owner of one of the best physiques of all time. Kevin holds 20 professional IFBB wins the most by any IFBB pro

Sprinter Profile: Dwain Chambers – He is an English sprinter who showed enormous promise as a junior winning the 100 metres and sprint relay gold in the 1995 European Juniors and setting a new world junior record at the same event in 1997. However he failed to live up to his early promise on the world stage but laid the ghost of his Manchester failure to rest after winning the 100m at the 2002 European Championships in Munich, and anchoring to victory the Great Britain team in the 4x100m relay

Result: The sprinter won by a mile

Dwain Chambers (right lane) won the 60m race in a time of 6.64 seconds. Mind you he was in off-season, meaning he was at his worse shape during non-competitive period.

Kevin Levrone (left lane) finished in a time of 7.8 seconds. The timing is ‘slow’ being that top female high schooler are able to beat the timing in the 60m

Now you might be wondering, how did the bodybuilder managed to clock a good 40m timing of 4.1s in the first place? Well either the person who timed his 4.1s made error during the race or the bodybuilder is only fast for the first 40m stretch, but will slow down after the distance.

This shows that even though the bodybuilder is in great shape, works out, has the muscle and power, it falls short of the proper ‘right’ training needed for sprinting. So the next time you observed someone running fast, a lot of hard training and dedication goes into that

Yes the bodybuilder weighs at around 240lbs perhaps while chambers at around 180lbs, he’s at disadvantage with all that weight

If the 40m 4.1s timing is true, Levrone if he ‘shed’ his muscle, he got the potential as a star sprinter

Still to say he’s the fastest, no disrespecting Levrone, he’s a great BB, but he got pwnzed in that race

Stick to your own sports I guess. I’ve never seen a sprinter contesting at the Olympia

You’ve got it wrong Kevin Levrone ran the 40 {yards} in 4.1 seconds. Not 40 metres. 40 metres is like 43 yards !
