There’s a recent story about a dude who was caught selling porn via Internet
He would get buyers from his ads online, duplicate the DVD, meet them and complete the transaction … in Singapore!
What irks me is that for one, he’s desperate enough for money to do such a stupid crime. He really got the balls, with Singapore being a ‘fine’ city and a ‘police state’ as we all know. Walls have ears and people tend to snitch dei
Secondly he’s a former graduate as the story first and foremost highlighted in the article by the reporter … “former student from the National University of Singapore” embolden in the first paragraph for all to see
The newspaper obviously trying to sensationalize the story
Of course if any commoner who deals with porn and got caught, it won’t be much of a story I reckon. It won’t even be picked up by any media syndicate
I wonder why is it necessary for people to buy and collect porn anyway. You just run the risk of getting caught.
The dude above was caught in the act with 1,127 pornographic DVDs at his home mind ya. You’ve got to admit, selling such DVD is asking for it
Don’t people ever watch Crimewatch. The gangster, Ah Long or robber always kena handcuff by Mr Policeman in the end with little resistance. I think we’ve the politest criminals around. Well aside from the stiff acting, you get my point right *smirk*
The Internet is full of porn. If Google can’t help you, maybe RedNano might? I reckon even a small child is able to find it.
I’m not promoting porn here but we all have our form of outlets for such ‘vices’ so I reckon if you don’t want to get caught, do it discretely and in moderation lah
The Story
Via asiaone.comAll this graduate wanted to do was to boost his income.
However, Chen Wen Tian, a former student from the National University of Singapore (NUS) was sentenced to four months’ jail yesterday for doing so.
His crime? He had turned to duplicating and selling Japanese, Chinese and English pornographic DVDs.
A report in Lianhe Zaobao stated that the 28-year-old would put put his DVDs up for sale by first placing an advertisement in a website with his details, requesting contact from interested parties.
After a line of communication had been established, a list of available titles would be sent to the potential buyer.
When the buyers had made their selection, payment would then be made in the form of a money transfer to Chen’s personal bank account.
Chen would deliver the DVDs the moment the money was received.
In total, he earned about $13,000 from DVD sales.
The police first arrested Chen in March last year following a tip-off. 1,127 pornographic DVDs were found after a search was conducted in his home.
Last month, Chen pleaded guilty to four charges, including the posession of illegal DVDs and the sale of DVDs without a legal permit.
