Last Tuesday, 17th April and as usual, I always look forward for the available updates from my blog mates

And finally, I read this from Dakota’s Blog – DesignerRoad Kill.

I remembered watching the video clips when I was 19. It took me a very long period to forget about it, feeling powerless for not being able to help these animals. I used to work for high end fashion brands like Lanvin, Gucci & Gianni Versace. Back then, I was unaware of the killings and the sufferings of the poor animals in this world. I didn’t know that these animals have been the fashion victims. Even so I knew that the leather goods were made of the animals’ skin, felt happy for the good money that I earned for selling the designers stuffs but the killing process did not come into my mind until I watch the video clips. I remember that I cried watching it. I even had nightmares for many nights.

Now, my heart was again broken by the fact it is still happening. I can’t tell you how angry & bitter I felt. How I wish I could help all the suffering animals in this world. How I wish I can put a complete stop to their barbaric behaviours. The scenes from the video clips keep playing in my mind. I can’t stop thinking about it again. They really don’t deserve this kind of treatment.

No wonder their countries are attack by constant disasters. Just look at what they do to these beautiful creatures. It’s called Retributions

Continue Reading and don’t turn a Blind Eye on this. Let us all spread the message around. You can’t imagine the number of killings that we can stop. I really hope that this will come to an end. 

Oh my, cruelty of animals of the worse form and people profiting out of it. It’s really sad

There’s however extreme animal activist that goes out and make a statement like splashing red paint on celebs wearing fur. Now that’s payback, thou it won’t bring back the animals that have been slaughter

I think in singapore nobody wears fur due to the climate. I think Haksmic does, I saw it his bling-bling closet, but don’t worry, it’s imitation. Don’t splash paint kat budak tu lak, kesian :-p

    Thanks for writing! :-)

uncle sha.. shhh… dun tell ppl u’ve been to my crib…

ouh no.. now i’m associated with bling blings.. NOOOooo.. Me have no bling blings… The only bling bling i have is my house chandelier can.. haha..

In Singapore’s context, people wearing fur equates to nak bunoh diri kaper… dah lah the country is so dang hot and humid, and you’re layering yourselves further with fur? It’s just stupid, if they’re doing it for the sake of fash.

it’s just like people wearing shades at night and at clubs. Wow wee, the moon is shining so brightly and the lighting effects will hurt my eyes.

a lot of mats do that – wear sunglass at night and at clubs, pada mereka tu nama nye style bergaya tapi dorang tak tahu tu bodoh and weirdo!

I’m so touched by Yanni’s entry this time. Being observant and care for animals are the last thing in their (the barbarians) mind nowadays. They just think of themselves. They think they own this world alone.

To be frank, I don’t dare to view the videos or I will cry. (I’m super emo when comes to animal killings and cruelties, so forgive me for that).

I will link this entry in my blog to make people realise how cruel this world can be when comes to animals/pets.

Retributions to those involved in this “unwanted massacre”. FCUK them!

i saw the videos like a few yrs back… at PETA i think… i still remembered how i was quite affected by it…

but you know what?… i think the most important message that we need to send across is, not to buy fur…

if there’s no demand for it, the killing will stop.

    • yanni April 22, 2007 at 3:06 pm - Reply

eddy – PETA tu apa? yes ur right, if there’s no demand, of cos the designers will stop producing it. i went to yahoo and google search for fur clothings, countless lah, so manyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy of them selling real fur clothings and accessories…

      • eddyboi April 22, 2007 at 5:43 pm - Reply

PETA – people for the ethical treatment of animals… well, most of those supermodels and big stars always pose naked and their slogan always say :-

” I will rather be naked then wear fur… ”

        http://www.peta.org/

they have a very strong belief on animal rights… should check out their website… their video clips are also very disturbing…

wow Yanni! you researched quite a bit. =) thanks for your comprehensive links.

so a large number of fur farms are located in China. I’m not surprised.

I hope I don’t get too much flak for saying this but as China seeks to expand its economy, moral values and good business practices often seem to take a backseat – what with large scale piracy, bear bile farming and now, fur farming.

And I was disgusted when I read about the global fur industry’s campaign to make wearing fur socially acceptable. So yes, I agree with you. Let’s do what we can to send the opposite message.

    • yanni April 22, 2007 at 3:08 pm - Reply

shaz – :( but no matter what we do, i dont think we can help the poor animals.. so many of them are doing this. and their govt can still give their support and invested huge amount in it.. spred the word around.

  6. Hairol April 22, 2007 at 11:29 pm - Reply

Well, I’m sure most of us don’t wear fur. However, it’s not about fur alone. Have we checked out our leather products? Our leather wallets, bags, kasut kulit babi. Were those animals slaughtered humanely?

  7. yanni April 22, 2007 at 11:48 pm - Reply

i dont think the animals were slaughtered humanely… :( looking at how they want their fur and the skinning method..
    :(
    :(
    :(

then like that, i dont want to buy any genuine and real leather goods made of animal skins!! i want to throw them!!!

i will only buy those patent leathers.

i swear i wont buy those which got to do with animals!!!
