Ever since I bought my new desktop like a few months back I’ve not turned it off. I would just leave it as it is, let is sleep or hibernate, or the occasional reboot.
My previous computer is even better, I didn’t turn it off for years until it kaput and went to Computer Heaven.
I just prefer it that way, as I like to be accessible online at any time, plus I’m running background programs when I’m not using it.
And it got me thinking if its better this way as I’ve heard that the constant turning on-off is not good for your PC, as it shortens its lifespan.
Of course I can’t be certain of the on-off myth, so I searched online, and there’s no solid findings on the topic at hand in fact, other than this one by HowStuffWorks and this Tom’s Hardware Discussion.
So how about you … yea or nea on turning off your PC?
