Kuala Lumpur Trip

Salam Eid Al Adha to all my Muslim frens.

Yupz yeah I know I’ve been MIA again, sorry about that again but I’ve valid reasons.

One of which, my PC totally crashed on me. It was a nightmare for me last week.

My PC was beyond salvage as my Hardisk went bonkers.

Gone are all my precious data such as my WebDesign stuff, my complete Usher mp3 albums, Aisha & my graduation photos, to my favourite saved games.

All of it gone! … Now my PC is on a fresh install, barren and new, void of any personal touch to it.

In a way its kinda good that I’ve a fresh install, knowing that I’ve deleted some of the crap I’ve been holding on as excess baggage.

Another reason was my abrupt overseas trip. What transpire as a playful banters of exchanges in MSN with my brada Rudy, the next thing we know, we embarked across 4 states and traveled some 600-plus-km for a roadtrip.

Sounds grands? No lar, haha … as usual, I’m hyping it up.

We actually went to KL for some R&R.

Heres a recap of our impromptu roadtrip

Day 1: The Busride

Prior to leaving for KL, Rudy scrapped his toe while I re-injured my hamstring during the day. From both rather painful turn of events, which might indicate as a bad omen, of much worse things to come during our stay in KL, we still decided to continue with our roadtrip. Heck to such omens!

We left Golden Mile Tower, on a Konsortium buscoach last Friday around 10.30pm. We were well equipped for the trip, with snacks and drinks in tow, obviously high-spirited about our trip. We just hoped the weather will be more forgiving in KL as it has rained non-stop in Singapore here. The bus driver opted to use the 2nd-Link, and traffic was rather laxed that night.

The only signs of life that night was at the customs, where there was aplenty number of bus-coaches with locals such as us, venturing North for the long weekend and Hari Raya Haji. After checking through customs, both of us slept through the whole trip. It was around 4.30am Saturday when we arrived at PuduRaya Bus Interchange in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Day 2: The Hotel Search

Since our roadtrip was of last minute and hurried, we didn’t plan nor research properly of where well bunk nor what we will be doing for our duration at KL. However, we do know, with our limited budget for the trip, we obviously have no means to stay at the Hilton nor dining at some luxuries restaurant.

From PuduRaya, we headed in the direction of Jalan Sultan in the drizzle. We checked out a few hotel and hostels but most was beyond our budget. Alas we came upon on Hotel Petaling, the rates was rather cheap, so we grabbed a room there. The lodging was nothing fancy, and the room has this funky odour to it but clean nonetheless … it will do

Day 2: Morning ensues

One bad thing about our room, there was no window! The only window that can be seen is the one outside our corridor. So we cant tell whether if its either morning or night unless we have a peek outside. After our power-nap, we woke up bright-eyed around 10-ish-am and duly left the hotel an hour later.

Our hotel is just a stone throw away from the infamous Petaling Street for its cheap imitation goods and is located within the Chinatown district, so we practically get to gawk at all the cute Malaysian amois there (local Chinese chicks) The first thing on our agenda that morning was changing to local currency and breakfast.

The rates was 2.29 if i recalled. We then settled for a mamak shop (indian stall) and ate the most delicious Maggi Goreng I’ve ever tasted (A popular Malaysian brand of instant noodles called Maggi, fried with ingredients commonly served at Mamak food stalls in Malaysia).

Day 2: Trip to Times Square

After our breakfast, we swung by PuduRaya Bus Interchange for awhile to purchase our return home bus-ticket. We decided with Transnational for a change. Though this bus company is well-known for leaving its passenger behind with or without their luggage, against the norm, we bought the tickets.

We wanted some element of danger. Haha, lame …Next up, we took the LRT to our next destination. It can be confusing at times compared to our local Singapore MRT, as it has different lines run by different rail companies. I’ve taken KL LRT before, but its just a matter of time getting accustomed to it again.

We stopped near Times Square, Rudy wish to buy his pre-paid card there and call on his Malaysian friends while I wanted to try Cosmos World, Asia’s largest indoor theme park within Times Square. Times Square looks like any shopping malls at Orchard but the service there compared to Singapore’s, theres a whole lot of difference.

Not once, but a couple of times when we tried to approach few shops for Rudy’s pre-paid card and the attending salesperson either rudely conversed with us or couldn’t be bothered. In the end we didn’t buy anything from there, as we would rather spend somewhere a little less upscale in exchange for a good & pleasant service.

We did however enjoyed ourselves at the theme park. It cost RM$25 per adult and you can have endless number of rides. From the roller coaster that does 360 degree turns to a revolving hanging turnstile 10 storey high that leaves butterflies in your stomach, haha I loved it!

Day 2: Onwards to KLCC

After the Times Square trip, its back to the LRT and our next stop KLCC. You know that 2 famous tall Petronas tower where the movie Entrapment was shot. It was a crap movie starring oldie Sean Connery and hottie Catherine Zeta Jones. Well KLCC is one of the biggest shopping malls in Malaysia, so we decided to check it out.

We bought Rudy’s pre-paid card there and we just hang around. Initially we wanted to dine at one of the seafood restaurant there, but since Rudy’s Malaysian friend invited us out, we decided to have dinner with her later on in town. Instead we ate something light at A&W. Aaah its been awhile since we had a root-beer float

Whilst in KL, I think the both of us attracted the wrong kind of crowd. Rudy has bapuks playfully flirting their tongues at him while I gotten smiles from not so bad looking transvestites or shemales, haha

Day 2: Meet Yasyka

After KLCC, we went back to our hotel for some nap before meeting Rudy’s Malaysian friend, Yasyka. From what he told me, she was his former classmate at AES when she was studying & took her Os here in Singapore 2 years ago. But before we met her, I decided to get some massage to loosen my muscles espiecally my injured hamstring.

A close-friend told me, if I’m getting a massage in KL, I should get a special (some clandestine vices). What the hell, haha, I’m not that type. We scoured around Petaling Street and I settled for a traditional Chinese massage which cost me around RM$70. The package includes cupping and massage for an hour. The masseur was an old lady, and NO! There was no special

We left our hotel around 9pm and was told to wait at KLCC main entrance where Yasyka was to pick us up. We waited awhile and after a few photo taking shots, she came in her cute little Proton Kanchil. First impression of her, well she’s quite a little miss dynamite or chilli padi.

Her vivacious character is infectious, and shes cute too! I felt like squeezing her to death, haha. That night we actually planned to club at either Zouk or Planet Hollywood but since Yasyka told us of the recent club-raids, we don’t want to take any chance with the local police, who are well known for their arrest now, talk later policy.

Yasyka drove us to Sri Hartamas. (An upper middle class suburb in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, popular area for getting drunk. As a result, the place has now become well known for a high profile, drink related, murder that made front page news. The adjacent neigbourhood of Mt Kiara has many international schools and is well populated with expatriates).

Its the place where all the kids hangout, a bit like Orchard Road but without the malls, the place is more laid-back with Shisha outlets, pubs and pool lounges.Afterwards which seemed like an endless search for a parking spot, Yasyka brought us to some outdoor Shisha pub and we met her friends.

I’ll tell ya, they are like totally hot! I mean really hot hot! Everyone is! At every glance or turn I made, there will always be some hot chicks! Her friends and Yasyka herself are quite posh, a friendly type of posh, nothing snobbish. Not the kind of posh thats in your face.

For the first time ever, I tried the Shisha ( special tobacco smoked with a hookah) … and I failed miserably, haha. I just don’t like it. It makes my throat itchy, dry and I kept coughing. It felt like a mice died in my throat, haha. As for Rudy, he kinda got high from the Sisha. I guess this is the closest I’ll ever get to smoking.

It was well late into the early morning when we left the place, around 3am perhaps. Yasyka then invited us back to her place. Tagging along was Yasmin and her boyfriend! So the 3 boys had to totally squeeze in this little Kanchil car at the backseat. After a short stop buying snacks for Yasmin and dropping her boyfriend home, we then picked up M, another of Yasykas hot friend before setting for her place.

We just hang around her place. I was kinda shag by then, I practically dozed off at the bed and later on at the chair. Rudy however was busy catching up with Yasyka. She’s quite the piano player herself and showcased some of her talents with the piano that night. The place was cosy, the company was great and I couldn’t ask for more and kinda makes up for our canceled clubbing plans. We left her place around 7am, Yasyka drove us back to our hotel

Day 3: Meet Elaine

We planned to wake-up early that morning but we succumb to our cosy, pristine looking hospital beds. We woke up from our slumber around 11am and checked-out from our hotel around 12pm. Both of us headed in the direction of Bukit Jalil with the LRT as we had a date with Elaine (my blogging friend whom I gotten to know from James > who knows Aline & used to babysit James > who knows Carine, a Mauritian staying in Singapore … confused? Well you should).

Here’s one fine looking chick but don’t be fooled by her young lolita looks, she’s well mature beyond her years. A word of advise for guys who wanna check her out, you should be someone who’s be able to hold a decent conversation, but then again guys, she’s already attached … awwww.

She also drove a Proton Kancil and we had a makan session at Taste Walking Cafe, I especially liked my Mocha & fillet dish and contemplated to smuggle the chef to Singapore but alas my bag was too small. Rudy & Elaine looked contented with their meals and no bouts of funny faces about their dishes, so I guess the food is great at Bukit Jalil area!

Next up, Elaine brought us to Mid Valley mall, Rudy wanna check out some apparels while I revel in the chance of gawking at more Malaysian chicks before I headed to Singapore. Elaine is quite a competent driver herself, some more practice and I think shes good enough for a Formula1 spot at Sepang.

I think theres parking issues in Malaysia they need to resolve, as we spent a whole load of time finding an available parking spot rather than at the Mall itself

We couldn’t impose ourself on Elaine anymore, so we said our goodbyes around 4pm. Elaine however nearly ran off with our bags, either she’s absent minded or part of her kinky plan to make us miss our bus and make us stay in KL forever … haha. We took the train to Balai Raykat station, where we waited for our 5.30pm bus-coach to Singapore at PuduRaya Bus Interchange

Day 3: Back Home

Well miss our smelly looking room, Yasyka and her hot friends, Elaine and Kuala Lumpur. I kinda am looking forward for another visit here but not so soon yah. We planned to venture the east coast of Malaysia next, anyone interested in joining us?

I’m glad I took the trip with my brada Rudy, someone who’s eager for adventure. Its back to reality now for both of us, with my attachment starts Monday and Rudy back in school.

Until our next misadventure
