Few days ago I had a Star Wars movie marathon … Yes you might want to skip this post, if you’re going ‘Oh boy another geek post’.
No geek flames now eh, this geek could kick your ass.
Alright maybe not kick your ass, haha, but I am the fastest geek around. I could do the Larry’s ‘Three Stooges’ eye-poke move on ya, chuckle three nyuks like Curly, and run away after that …. nyuks nyuks nyuks.
You know what, despite watching the movie countless times, there’s always some new nuggets of information you might not realized when you watched it on the first, second or the hundredth time.
Here’s a few topics below I recalled that got me wondering about Star Wars movie loopholes that doesn’t make sense or the storyline inconsistencies.
Of course with the advent of the cyberspace and Google, I got my loopholes fixed.
In Episode 4, A New Hope, Obi-Wan Kenobi doesn’t recognize R2-D2, but in the prequel Episode 1-3, he knows Artoo
Explanation: This could be partly explained by the twenty-year timespan between their last encounter as well as Obi-Wan’s age. Other interpretations suggest that Obi-Wan is playing dumb, that Artoo’s appearance is not distinctive, or that Obi-Wan actually does recognize the droid, but chooses not to make an issue of it. Obi-Wan claims that he doesn’t “recall owning a droid”, which is consistent with the prohibition on Jedi owning personal property of any substance. However this answer is not what we expect from someone who, although didn’t own, he had one (R4) under his service.
In Episode 5, The Empire Strikes Back, Darth Vader don’t recognize C-3PO, despite being the creator of the droid in the prequel movies.
Explanation: Since Vader, as a young Anakin Skywalker, built Threepio, it may have been logical that Darth Vader would have recognized him. Vader arguably does not want to remember his past as Anakin Skywalker, so it is possible that he simply refused to acknowledge his former creation’s presence. Threepio has his memory wiped at the end of Revenge of the Sith, so he would not know Anakin’s identity as Vader. There is also no reason during the scene for Vader to recognize him; not only is Threepio disassembled and strapped to Chewbacca’s back, Vader is more focused on observing the freezing of Solo and making certain assurances to Boba Fett. Also, Threepio’s appearance wasn’t distinctive, two nearly identical models having been shown previously in the films.
In Empire Strikes Back, Obi-Wan mentions that Yoda was his master, while in the prequel we learn it was Qui-Gon Jinn.
Explanation: Obi-Wan mentions that he was taught under Yoda, not that he was his Padawan. The Jedi cannot have only one tutor for their whole life, and in some parts of Obi-Wan’s training, Yoda must have been one of his tutors. Yoda at the Jedi academy teaches all the younglings before they are assigned their Master, as seen in Attack of the Clones.
Why luke can’t sense the monster creature wampa in Episode 5 opening scene, where he was knocked unconscious and brought to the ice cave. Doesn’t a Jedi sense these things.
Explanation: As for Luke’s ability with force, remember that at this time, his training (such as it was) was very minimal – remember how much effort he had to use to summon his light saber from the snow below him. As we’ve seen in the prequels, such a task is second nature to a trained Jedi. But Luke hasn’t had any training yet – he just has a lot of raw talent.
In Return of the Jedi, Luke asks Leia if she remembers her real mother, and Leia replies that just remembers images and feelings. but, Leia’s mother, Padmé, dies in childbirth.
Explanation: Two possible explanations have arisen to counter this: one is that Leia retains an image of her mother at her birth, possibly through the Force. Another suggestion is that Leia is referring to the Queen of Alderaan, Breha Organa, but this is unlikable since Luke makes himself clear (“your real mother”, indicating that Leia knew the Queen was not her real one).
Beyond the Movie
If you want to know more Star Wars stuff that’s beyond the movie, here’s a few interesting stuff I dig up back awhile.
- No one actually knows Yoda race species. Details of the character’s life history remain unknown.
- The emperor Royal Guard, seen in beautiful Red Crimson robes, were hand-picked from the ranks of the Elite Stormtroopers and has latent Force sensitivity. If they passed the even more rigorous tests, they were by trained by Dark Jedi to wield the Force.
- The Jedi characters your seen in the movies coming back as apparition ghost after dying are called Force ghost. The Force ghost was the soul and essence of a deceased Force-sensitive who denied the will of the Force upon death, yet was able to interact with the living, albeit not physically. Qui-Gon Jinn (Obi Wan master) was the first of the recent Jedi who rediscovered this secret, and taught it to Yoda and Obi Wan.
- Luke Skywalker married one Mara Jade, a former Emperor’s assassin. They had a child named Ben in memory of Luke old master. Mara was killed by her own nephew Jacen Solo, who turned to the Dark Side and became the last and third Darth Sith.

Wrap-Up
By now if you’re still here, reading this, you’re a hardcore Star Wars then!
I’ve naturally added the following famous Star Wars quotes to my daily conversation, but people always says I’m corny and lame when I do say it, haha …
- Stay on target
- You rebel scum
- Laugh it up, fuzzball
Well I reckon I’m ultimately hoping to use the quotes if I were ever to visit a SW convention. That would be cool to meet my fellow SW geeks!
I’ve also become that annoying Star Wars movie fan … repeating the lines to myself even before the characters say it out loud during the movie! I know every line by hard!!
Lastly before ending this entry, may the force be with you … keke

Great posts. NOt really a star wars fan though however thanks for the great info..
