Has it been reported in the news? I’ve not read much of the papers lately and yes Carl Lewis is in town. The legend runner, jumper and the 10 times Olympic medalist will be in Singapore doing some PR and athletics clinic.
I’m quite excited in fact to be going to the clinic. It’s to be held at ITE Simei tomorrow. But oh gosh, it’s so early but not fret, for the sake of Carl I’m willing to sacrifice my sleep time. He’s like a living legend man and to miss this once in a lifetime affair, is just bonkers.
The Carl Lewis reported by the world media as someone who is loud and he likes to make his opinions known whether you want to hear it or not. His colorful character can sometimes be misinterpreted as someone egotistical and it’s widely known that not many track athlete like him as a person back then.
I wonder if he has mellowed down. Now retired from running few years back, he’s pursuing an acting career back in the states. Anyway I’ll post of the clinic tomorrow alright. Hope it will be fun.
Back focusing on me, my exams are finally over and I did my first proper run in a long time. The run was around 40minutes and it was torturing halfway through most of it, haha. That’s how bad my condition is.
It’s an uphill task for my G.P.P (General Preparation Program) but I’m willing to sweat through it. I love the pain, well training your body is like training your mind. Once you’ve overcome the pain threshold, it’s a whole new level baby.
I really need to get back to my long runs. I feel when I stopped doing it few years back, all my injuries and problem kept cropping in. I’m basically a ‘hard’ athlete. Meaning I’m not gifted as some of the athletes who trains less but still performs.
I’m the type that needs alot of conditioning and going through tough rigorous training to be in par with the rest. I know i don’t have a fast twitch muscle, nor slow either. I’m like the in between and that sucks in an athlete point of view. Well let’s see if I can maintain this enthusiasm and hope my injury won’t resurface.
Here’s a video of this morning run. Oh boy, I need a lot more runs to get back in shape
