Great Sprinters Are Born

I do believe that anyone can be a sprinter but to be an elite one, I believe that good sprinters are born

All the world class top sprinters are just born with the right kind genes. You need plenty of fast twitch muscles of course

But of course there’s the other notion of cultivating that ‘talent’ or it will just be wasted

Yes these sprinters do need the right kind training to get the best out of these gifted runners, but I believe they’ll still run riot over average sprinters even without the training

And to attain such high level of training, these sprinters will require the support needed to groom them from youth through to the senior ranks; be it from family, friends or the sports association

The below video tells of how a top world class sprinter Sanya Ricards just knew she was born and destined for greatness plus how the support helped in her development

Born with greatness & the support

So dad and mom, don’t fret one day finding out your child wants to be an athlete and not a lawyer or doctor.

Support them in whatever interest or passion they might have

It’s an age of discovery and selective process into preparing them for their future roles in the community; athlete, white collar worker or otherwise

Family helps and own motivation helps too

But one cannot be a competent sprinter if one doesn’t have the motivation and discipline.

The above video tells how Sanya Richards wrote down her best times and that urged her to run faster and harder to do a personal best

I used to remember doing something similar, writing down my goal in my wallet and having seen it always when opening up my wallet. For me it kept me on the ball always on my objective and not to lose sight of my ultimate goal

So basically, yes I believe great sprinters are born but it doesn’t make the mediocre sprinters like me any less of a runner.

I’ve my own personal goals and battles to achieve in this lifetime before hanging up my spikes

That’s all that matters to me

Viva la sha

i concur with what you stated in your entry. i guess, i fall into the category where parents dictated where my area of study should be and i followed so conscientiously but upon my graduation from university, i placated both parents and informed them that despite my achievements in procuring that scroll, i never really wanted to wade in the waters of the faculty that i had just graduated from. so, i made a 180 degree turn and delved into something i really enjoyed. and now that i have a son, i know that channeling him into something that i WANT him to be may not exactly be in the best interest for him :)

so, thank you for the reminder!!!

      Hi there

Yea true enough, I’m doing a field for which I’ve no interest in and will pursue my passion instead

parents are more well informed and aware of such issues these days, and you knowing that, I’m sure your kid will turn out fine :)
