I Live For Such Moment

Sha May 6, 2007 9

Once again, I iterate, “It’s not the destination, but the journey”.

Uncle Sha: You may be down, you may be out, you may get injured, but if you showed some grit, you’ll get an ‘ovation’. I may not be rich, I many not be pretty, when I take a look at my life and realize there is nothing left, but just a ‘reputation’ to protect or I couldn’t walk around with my heads up no more

The below video clip is 400m British runner, Derek Redmond at 1992 Barcelona Olympics. He pulled his hamstring around the 200m.

He knew his race was over, but he still had to complete the final race of his life.

So he hopped onto one foot to the finishing line, with his dad who started the journey with him, helped him near the end … emooooooooo

when my ex pulled his hamstring, i thought it was heart breaking, because it was at the last leg of the 200m. He would have gotten his gold but…

but having a loved one there, it gives one hope that at the end of it all, love matters?

Ahh so you know your sports then, esp running. full of surprises

well you’re asking the ‘wrong’ person that question. define love

        philosophical, epistemological, scientific.. etc.

Love is what one defines love to be.

I think for some – seeing a loved one at the end of the line, at a point when one sprains or pull hamstrings etc. That is also a win.

I dont wish to know what love is.

Nice finish, but won’t tat actually void the timing and race if the runner comes in contact with “assistance”, I think the rules state that a runner have to officially cross the line on his own accord for an official finish, no matter what the timing, even if he crawled all the way.

    Just a thought… *grins*

Nevertheless such finishes always have the most cheers and tears.. touching…

yup the run won’t count but it’s just something he has to do, to close a chapter in his life

the runner ran 4 before years before this, also the same fate, gotten injured during the olympic trials, didn’t finished the race

this was his second and last hope/run for a medal, that didn’t happened. so he decided if he can’t be a medal hopeful, he would at least finish it this time round

      you know your regulations bro

      :-)
