4 local bloggers, me, Hak, Faddy and Luthien, all from different walks of life, met up for a bloggers outing to celebrate a certain special blogger birthday. It’s Eddyboi’s 27th birthday!
Well these four aspiring hero bloggers met up with him at his workplace, an ‘old school’ fire station somewhere in town. The two young rascals was first to arrive, I was second and Luthien was third. As you observe, as you grew older, it seems you’re becoming more & more late when attending such functions :-p
Well anyway …
Eddyboi was all smiles greeting us as the front gate. After exchanging our passes for security reason (as we all got that Jemaah Islamiyah terrorist look), the host showed us around the compounds of his workplace. Finally I get to see how the Civil Defence Home Team works. I’m on the other Home Team, Police NS.
The buggy amphibious ride was the highlight of the day. I felt like as if I’m on a roller-coaster ride from hell. Clinging on to dear life as it swerve jerkily around the CD carpark area. To think it’s just going around 20-30 km/h, it’s still seems fast enough for us when inside the buggy. The other 2 rascals was also hanging on for dear life, they look cute in their over-sized helmets, too bad I didn’t manage to get a photo of it
Next up, after the ride, we decided to visit the ‘Heritage Gallery’. It has info, facts and replicas of old firefighter vehicles, video clips and plenty of shiny firefighting bling-bling. But the fun part was this ‘Encik’ who was giving us the tour of the gallery. His anecdotes and stories of the past big fire cases e.g. 1978 Spyros industrial incident which killed 70 plus people, to the insight of a firefighter life are interesting!
After that, we went to the lounge area, and Eddy decided to treat us to pizzas! Canadian pizza in-fact. Bro, I think I really took advantage of you. I was from training, hungry and ready to gobble up anything. I think I ate about 6-7 slices! Hahaha. Well since no one was eating, I might as well become the ‘tong sampah’. Thanks eddy!
When eddy left for activation, the rest of us stayed behind and just ‘lepak’. We treat the place macam ‘rumah kita sendiri’ seh. We mingled and when we did left, Eddy text sms us. That means he came back to the station when we left. Awww we just missed him. It was a good day …
Next up, games with the bloggers! Badminton, squash or some cardio perhaps?
