Part 2: Gilles Yapi Yapo

Here’s a continuation entry of my last day from work attachment. After I left work, with my internship over, I was quite excited at the prospect of enjoying my school holidays. Theres so many things that I wish and plan to do! Hmmm what shall i get started with eh

Anyway that evening, there was no training for me as I had competition coming up and I was really looking forward to catch my first ever outdoor. I’ve World Cup soccer matches that night. So I decided to round up few khakis for soccer but it seemed everyone has their own plans, but but but to my delight, it just so happen that Hairol was available.

I met up with him at Plaza Singapura for dinner and we had a rather interesting start of a conversation between us. Maaf eh Hairol kalau i tersasul referring you as B****p. Before heading to our actual destination, we sidetrack for awhile, where we visited the arts festival corner located in front of Plaza Singapura.

We managed to catch an Indonesian band, Next of Kin. They’re not bad. Also we kinda love love the cute gurl who performed solo, Nureen. We both find her cute. It doesn’t matter she was off-key most of the time.

After our short little detour, we finally settled down at a pub down at Prinsep Road. Its a 5 minute walking distance from Dhoby Ghaut MRT. The place can be crowded at times, but Hairol told me, most will be able to get a seat, if not for the current match, maybe the next one.

In that span of one night, we managed catch the exciting Argentinas 6-0 drubbing of Serbia-Montenegro and the evenly matched Holland vs Ivory Coast which saw the men from Netherlands walking away with the 3 points. It was well worth the outing, thank god it wasn’t a boring draw-draw kinda match.

That night leaving the pub, walking down to City Hall for my ride home, I felt that my life in cache was punctuated alike to moments of equilibrium. I really need balance in my life man … well whateva that means, haha
