Me Play squash? Slaps Forehead

Sha June 8, 2007 21

Have you ever seen a bangla played squash before? No right! That’s we stick to cricket and rolling down the hills jer. Oh my Fatimah …

Disclaimer: I ‘stole’ the other blogger photos, too lazy to photoshop la!

Well anyway last week a group of my blog friends met up for squash, Eddy, Hak, LTS and Faddy. LTS who used to play squash during her school days, came up with the idea. Well it was fun but we all suck at it. I thought squash was similar to badminton but I was wrong.

Firstly you can flick your wrist like badminton, your wrist must instead be firm to receive and serving the ball

Secondly, you need to know your Physics well, a game of squash uses all corners of the walls in the court. So you need to estimate the trajectory where the ball will hit and land

Thirdly it’s faster pace than badminton, you’ll be scurrying left-right plus banging into wall! Hahaha

Fourth you’ll get a sore arm the next day if you hold the racket too tight. It’s not about the power, but the control of play

After the good game of squash we headed to the new Ang Mo Kio Hub Mall. Previously it was so cheena lah the place, now it’s much better.

lorry-incident.jpg

On the way there while walking, at the traffic junction, we encountered a dude slumped unconscious in the driver seat. He was holding up the traffic at the junction, so we investigated like any kaypoh would do!

Luckily we got a paramedic blogger. We tended to him until the ambulance came. Our paramedic blogger can’t ascertain what’s the cause behind his blackout by the way.

After that ‘hero’ scene, we made our way to Ang Mo Kio as I earlier mentioned. We ate at a nearby Kopitiam Banquet. My kway teow was oily to my delight, wakakaka.

Hey I need fats too ok. Don’t hate me coz I look cute. Some might even say ‘Act Cute’, haha.

Oh what a roar of a time we had at Banquet. LTS is such a wealth of juicy stories being her occupation she needs to be kaypoh. We all the rest extra-extra jer. I think we stayed there for a good 2 hours.

And at a kopitiam somemore! We don’t need no CoffeeBean, when you got Banquet!

When our LTS friend left for work, the rest four of us went to town for more chill out session. Hak has a craving for Starbucks, so we stopped at the outlet behind Somerset there.

We got a poly student on attachment, a paramedic, an A level student plus me, the Bangla. Can lah the four of us could mix around, no airs about us, just wholesome fun outing. We posed, talked and flaunted there, keke. I like to pose stupido-ly if you observed

flaunt2.jpg

We left in the evening when Faddy had a curfew. The four hero of us decided to walk to City Hall MRT. And we were from Somerset MET. Waduh talk about a challenge. Quite the distance eh but when you got company, you don’t feel it. Awwwwwwwww

Upon reaching City Hall, Hak left to meet his friend at City Hall, Eddy took the train East-wards while both me and Faddy went West. West-side baby! We had a pariah chat, it was fun while it lasted, where we said our goodbyes at Boon Lay. Sob sob …

Until the next outing guys!

Edit: I found out that the driver was not unconscious, he was just sleeping. Teruk betul seh!. To think the ambulance even came just for him.

But when we found him, he didn’t respond to our calling and shooking. He was mumbling. The attending paramedic told our paramedic blogger that the fella was SO tired that he just wanted to sleep. Talk about a deep sleeper! Such nonsense of a people are around.

So the attending paramedic called the police on him next, wakakaka. Wasting the precious time attending to him jer

hey eddy and sha, for firsttimers (even oldtimers if they hv NOT played a longtime like me lah, my upperarm ached slightly), normal to ache upperarm and forearm, and the backside (cos of the tonggek-bending). you’ll earn a nice ass (plus side) and one giant arm (minus) if you keep up with this.

i think we shd go out and play somemore – other things. im restarting my exerama. going off to gym in an hour! :)

swimming kirim salam! i cannot swim to save my life (i swim on the spot, 1 metre underwater, with mucus continuously oozing out of my nostrils! very gross lor), and too shy to let the public see me in a swim costume (which is by the way shorts type and has sleeves ok!). sepak takraw too uncoordinated to do the flipover. lemme think lemme think…
