Body aching, my feet is killing me, my knees felt as though someone kicked it, sleeping an extra 6 hours than my usual routine, and I had a rather heavy lunch earlier after my long slumber as I was famished!
You might think I had just ran the marathon, but no, I went to ZoukOut 2006.
The largest open air dance party for 12 straight hours.
Held at the beautiful coastal beach of Sentosa yesterday, this is my third time going to the event.
Matter of in-fact for this year event, me going to ZoukOut nearly didn’t quite materialize as there was a mix up in the meeting rendezvous point.
But it came out ok. Coming to this year party, I felt rather subdued. I don’t know why.
So did was Hairol.
I came only because it was the best bud last party before he flies off to Perth for his studies.
Everyone’s leaving, hopefully he’ll make his mark over there.

At the event yesterday, me and Hairol was just contented to sit down, and chill at the far end corner of the party.
Amidst the loud beats and renditions, we had a lovely chat.
Then it came to a point where it’s making both of us really sad talking about the troubled issues each of us are going through.
That’s when our non-activeness turned into F=ma (Force equal mass x aceleration). Haha
Yeah baby! We joined the crowd and just danced. Nothing going to burst our ‘bubble’.
Our issues took a backseat for that instant moment and both of us turned into the mean dancing machine!
Well in our minds we are, we probably looked loony to everybody else. We practically dance half the night away.
We started out at the Trance main arena and moved our way down to the Mambo/Hip Hop area.
But sadly Hairol had to leave around 4am, the dude had to pry force himself away from the party and leave for work that morning.
I can see it in his face, he would rather boogey wogey till the end instead.
As for me, the best bud and me walked Hairol out and after that I continued dancing.
We came as a group but most of us got scattered at the party and did our own things.
So when Hairol left, I continued dancing but alone now.
Sounds rather sad yeah but no, I had fun in fact.
There was some ladies around, but nah, bump & grinding wasn’t on my agenda that night.
It was rather pathetic to see guys just standing around waiting and oggling at girls.
They’re waiting for an opportunity, you know, to get ‘some’. Come on it’s a dance party, just dance.
Well anyway it was the last ZoukOut at Sentosa and I bet the next year, if there is, it won’t be the same anymore.
Well for me it won’t.
