Yesterday I was joyfully working out as usual on a daily basis. There’s just something extraordinary every time I’m out burning some calories on a beautiful evening. It kinda has an equalizing effect that I just can’t describe.
Especially the quiet idle time just before I start running, stretching on the railings as I took my first breath. The very breathe you take before becoming the person you’re meant to become ya know.
While jogging I can’t help but marvel at the amazing sunset, but my evening was ‘ruined’ nonetheless by our Anak Melayu. How? Well this was just my observation on one short evening while out on the streets jogging.
I was jogging towards the traffic light, a bunch of Malay kids was seen talking to a young Malay gal. They were oblivious of the other pedestrians, and blocking the path. One of the young punk threw his can of water on the grass without the care in the world. I wanted to say “Ini bapak kao punya rumput ke”. But I reminded myself it was the holy month.
Retired to the fitness area near my place to do some body workouts. Opposite me was an apartment and under the block, a group of Malay skateboarding youths was making plenty of noises with their stunts and shouting. They were quite rowdy, shirtless, pants so low that they’re showing off their boxers and butt crack. Eeeyywww.
As I continued doing my pullups, dips and pushups, a Malay kid joined the skateboarding group. He walks nonchalantly with a bottle of water in his hand, passed it around the group, and enjoyed the drink. In my mind I thought, “Adik uzur ke”.
I ended my workout and was on the way back home. What caught my gaze was one of the young Malay punk pinching and smacking the ass of a Malay gal who was among in the group. She didn’t seem to mind it, smiling in fact probably flattered. What’s next, boobs groping.
That sure was an interesting evening for me, and I just can’t help but shrug thinking, are these our Anak Melayu. I left the place pondering.
I just hope that not all our young ones are similar to what I’ve just observed. Hey believe me, I was a young, bad-ass kid once myself, but I was never this senonoh.
