The project was initiated to help low-income students cope with their education and life. There are three sections to the project mainly, Academic Tutoring, Religious Mentoring and Self Development Programme.
In the Academic tutoring tutors are needed to teach the children in three main primary level subjects, Eng, Maths and Science. Each tutor will be paired up with three children. The tutor will not only guide them in their education but of their troubles in the school life too.
Secondly the Religious Mentoring, where Mentors are needed to further enrich the students understanding of Basic Islam. Their religious class will be on Sundays and the Mentors will go-over or revise what the ustaz have taught these children on mondays/wednesdays.
The tutors/mentors will be given allowance of 5/hr and they will have volunteer at least 2hrs/week. They will also be given light refreshments on their duty days.
Lastly, the students will have to attend a compulsory 2days1night camp in June and 3days2nights camp in December. The Mentors/Tutors will be spearheading this camp of self-development in nature.
this is a good project. focusing on secular as well as religious needs.
