Of sight, smell, sound and taste

I do miss Kuala Lumpur, when its Ramadan time. Usually it’s a toss between my grandma’s village, or KL, the ideal place to be when the fasting month comes.

The excellent food, the hospitable people, and the goodies to purchase is the drawing points for such. But I guess work beckons. I’m just too busy to do just about anything these days.

It’s work, train, work, sleep, and it’s back to square one all over again; this on a daily basis. But I’m not complaining. I love what I’m doing, and I do hope to get some time-off in the future when everything is more stable.

Listening to Hari Raya songs below was just so nostalgia man … haiz.

Ramadan in KL

Ramadan is a special month for Muslims. The holiest month in the Islamic calender, it is where Muslims fast from daybreak to sunset to let themselves experience the hardship of those less fortunate, committing themselves to doing good deeds and prayers as well as exercising restraint.

However, there is a flip side to all this seriousness. A fun side in the form of the Ramadan Bazzar which takes place for one month every every year in Ramadan.

It is a utopia for food lovers, where assortments of delicacies are presented for the breaking of fast — not for self-indulgence but for convenience.

Muslims and non-Muslims alike flock to these bazaars to savour the culinary colours of Malaysia.
