Well the song actually was not an original. It was wrote by an unknown Memphis singer Mark James, which was a flop, until someone brought it to Elvis, and the King decided to do a cover on it.
It was Elvis’s comeback song, hitting #1 since his last hit back in 1969 if I not wrong.
