This concerns local TV. I’m not too sure about the channel programming, but I think “Suria” and “Kids Central” share a channel right. Vasantham too? I stand corrected. I don’t watch that much of TV … Well anyway I was watching ‘Anugerah Band 2008′ the other day and the show got me scratching my head lah
First and foremost, I tuned in to the show especially as I saw the trailers previously, it looked kinda cool to me. Nurul, Shah and that other guy, the funny one macam superstar looking seh in the trailers
Also I decided to watch it, as there’s a need for me to get in touch more with my Mat side. But after watching the show, I felt it was more of a fashion catwalk. Bands parading and posing nak mampos. Make no mistake they all looked great but I felt ‘cheated’ lah of my precious time for that hour
Having never watched the show ever before, I was unsure of the show format, and I was expecting Idol type of a program, which is “Performance”, then the “Judging”, but for Anugerah Band somehow the bands has performed before hand; maybe previous week perhaps? And the show for that night was all about the results on which band will get through the next round
And the host didn’t either explain the show format beforehand …
I tried going online to “Anugerah Band” website for some information about the show and band perhaps, which might shed some light, but the website is so irritating to navigate. The flash navigation is unclickable and I can’t seem to get to the pages that I wanted. I’m using Firefox browser by the way
After that blur sotong moment, that’s the last time I’ll tune in to Anugerah Band
But still, do support local bands … Baybeats still the best!

bland set ups, super irritating hosts ( i don knw who’s hosting, but ALL suria hosts are irritating ) and over the top dressing…

I watched the show too because one of my colleague is taking part. Too bad I have no chance to see how he performed since his group is not the best top 12.
And I think dua-suku (or tiga-suku) team should go through the next round instead of KnightWings.

i agree…but we didn’t get to see how the original 20 bands did? shouldn’t they have let the public see how they were and then we vote to dwindle it down to the final 12?
The bands are posers la. Didn’t really watch Suria, and the actors…don’t mention it.

it’s funny that some of the suria actors actually have really upstanding jobs like architects, lawyers.
WHY they sink down to “suria actors/actresses” is beyond my comprehension
