Sweep the Leg

If you love 1984 movie classic Karate Kid like I do, you would know this song probably.

It’s by the band No More Kings with the song “Sweep the Leg”, which is a tribute to the Karate Kid trilogy.

As we all know Part 1 was classic, Part 2 was rather ok, and Part 3, oh boy, you got to have a stomach for that one.

Still I love the trilogy, so this No More Kings band is a fan of the movie it seems, and made a ‘tribute’ song slash parody out of it.

Even the original cast members of Part 1 is in it.

From William Zabka who plays Johnny (the bad guy), Ralph Macchio (good guy), Martin Kove (the bad sensei), to Johnny’s cronies are even in the music video! Hahaha.

The song title “Sweep the Leg” was inspired from a line in the movie where the bad sensei asked Johnny to sweep the leg of Daniel LaRusso.

I reckon Johnny in the music video imagined all along on the alternate ending to the Karate Kid where he wins it, instead of Daniel.

I’ve always wondered how it turns out after the Karate Kid trilogy ya know. Well for this music video, Johnny became trailer trash with his Cobra Kai cronies and wife in tow. Who says good guys finish last eh.

Now say after me, “Wax on, Wax off … Wax on, Wax off … Wax on, Wax off.”

This is way cool man …
