I’ll know I’ll incur the wrath of the hordes of Twilight fans out there, but I just can’t wrap my mind behind the Stephenie Meyer saga, where the vampires in her book gives out a supernatural golden sparkle glow when they’re exposed to the sun.
It is still a good read and entertaining movie but …
It’s a whole new vampire concept for me, and one I still can’t accept since watching the first movie of the Twilight series last year.
The vampire movies mythology ever since I watched the genre since I was young was that they are vulnerable to sunlight, but Stephenie Meyer’s vampires tales ignored that fact.
After some digging up, the notion that vampires are vulnerable to sunlight are more in fact fiction rather than folklore.
It was introduced into the literature at the turn of the century and got stuck ever since.
And with the new Twilight movie sequel ‘New Moon’ out, I’ll be keeping an open mind of what’s to expect for the movie. I just hope the movie didn’t make any major changes to werewolves mythos.
