Recall my ‘The Cure’ concert & ‘Groove Armada’ Zouk party that I went. Here are my thoughts and some media files to gawk over
‘The Cure’ concert (1.8.2007)
I was on my way to training when someone called me. As I looked at my ringing handphone, I had one SMS which went un-noticed. It read “Bloody hell, pickup your handphone!” … Hahaha lovely.
It was from Hairol, he was frantically trying to contact me. Well all ended well, I managed to rush my training and met up in time for the concert at the Indoor Stadium. Thank you for the invite Hairol
The event, you can tell it’s not those teeny booping concerts with shrieking youths. The crowd was more mature, but we still got off our ass and bogey woogey especially when they played “Friday I’m in Love”.
The concert was electric. I wasn’t particularly a big fan of ‘The Cure’ but I do listened to them on the airwaves and even have a few mp3 of them on my disc archives.
Hearing Robert Smith’s nasal and haunting voice sure brought back alot of childhood memories. A time when capteh and bola rembat was the bomb. Feeder bus fares was 15cents or air batu cost a measly 10 cents bought at the make-shift shops at makcik HDB house.
Even other bloggers friends got into the act. Miss Loi and Zuni
Here’s a partial video from the concert below

‘Groove Armada’ Zouk party (28.7.2007)
Days before we went to the gig, I was flipping through the papers. And lo and behold it was Groove Armada coming down to Singapore. They’re big in Europe! Compared to tiny Singapore, the following ain’t that pretty hawt
Initially we planned to go Poptart, but since GA is here, we opted for the more happening one! Anyway I re-asked Hairol again and he agreed. And off we went to Zouk that particular night. It was also the first time I’m going to a club with the smoking ban in effect. Guess what …
The BO is much stronger in the club now. I mean the smoke totally mask the smell. Now you can just smell the person nearest to you if he showered or have the case of body odour. I mean this kind of thing, you can’t help it. If you got BO, you’re stuck with it. Luckily as gay as it may sound, I and Hairol smelled each other and yippeee we don’t have BO!
It was happening that night, everyone got into GA sound when they started to play their SuperStylin song. Girls in minis on podiums going havoc, the ang moh chicks looked incredible and we had fun. There were few hiccups like morons who don’t dance and block our ways or we get ‘stalked’ by gorillas who danced freaky
Next time GA is in town, you all should come down and party!

i do not like the cure. they sound so weird. the only song i like by them is… Friday I’m in love. i like instead 311′s version of Love Song. “whenever i’m alone with you, you make me feel like i am free again”…. :)
