IKEA Lifestyle

Since young I’ve always had this fascination to have a place of my own, especially building my own custom-made kitchen.

I have this picture perfect scene of the kitchen, I still do now; automated dishwasher, nice kitchen fixtures, French door refrigerator with bottom freezer, sparkling shiny faucets, Viking stove, and resilient vinyl floor to name a few features.

I can just imagine myself bobbing my head and moving my feet to the tune of Simple Mind’s “Don’t You Forget About Me” on the iPod Touch in my nifty kitchen preparing my Aglio e Olio pasta. Did you know there’s more than 500 ways to serve your pasta.

The song that embodies the 1980′s

Weird hur, when other kids were more interested in saving up for their first automobile lessons or motorbike, I was putting aside my so called nest-egg savings for my IKEA Lifestyle fascination.

I think this craze all stems suits my fiercely independent and lone-ranger personality, and as bad and horny as it sounds, I wanted to move away as quickly as possible from my family and lead a fulfilling promiscuous life :p

Of course I’m working towards that as always my whole life.

The life-plan actually was to finish my studies by 29 years old, I achieved that, to get married by 30, that I’ve to scratch off the list, to run naked across Old Trafford soccer field by 32 and getting my IKEA place before I hit 35 years old.

The last one, well I’m still on course for that, as for the streaking, hmm I need to know a person from the inside and execute it Ocean-11 style, haha.

Call me weird, but I prefer to do my window shopping at places such as IKEA and Courts rather than men’s boutiques. Oh I’m all for looking and wearing nice clothes, but I get more satisfaction doing the former.

That’s why I get the kicks of doing grocery shopping as what I buy dictates how I want to run my life and how it should be. Should I get that fat-laden yogurt or the nonfat one? The ideal is simple, pondering and choosing the best of the lot during grocery shopping for my life. It’s the closest thing I’ll ever get to my IKEA Lifestyle for now.

Well enough of ranting for today, back to work people.
