Edit: It’s 3:30 am now, still can’t sleep, so I’m watching The OC and Beverly Hills 90210 at PeekVid …

Another edit: Just finished episode 11th of The OC. Still can’t sleep. Erm took some photos. Wanna see how’s my morning look looks like? Very da shiny la dei my forehead and face … haha

It’s 3am now, I got awoke and aroused by another dream. This time it was horny sexy one, haha. And I can’t seem to go back to sleep considering I’ve training early in the morning. Don’t you just hate that, your body just refuse to cooperate.

So with nothing else to do, well here I am online, blogging. I even had a short stroll to the canteen downstairs earlier, to see if the vending machine sells milk, NOPE! Warm milk sometimes works for me. Aiya …

As I slog away at this entry, it got me thinking, does the position of your sleeping pattern can accurately describes you as a person. Well indeed it can, according to this research.

sleep position

Professor Chris Idzikowski, director of the UK Sleep Assessment and Advisory Service analysed six common sleeping positions – and found that each is linked to a particular personality type

Foetus
Those who curl up in the foetus position are described as tough on the outside but sensitive at heart. They may be shy when they first meet somebody, but soon relax. This is the most common sleeping position, adopted by 41% of the 1,000 people who took part in the survey. More than twice as many women as men tend to adopt this position.

Log
Lying on your side with both arms down by your side. These sleepers are easy going, social people who like being part of the in-crowd, and who are trusting of strangers. However, they may be gullible.

Yearner
People who sleep on their side with both arms out in front are said to have an open nature, but can be suspicious, cynical. They are slow to make up their minds, but once they have taken a decision, they are unlikely ever to change it.

Soldier
Lying on your back with both arms pinned to your sides. People who sleep in this position are generally quiet and reserved. They don’t like a fuss, but set themselves and others high standards.

Freefall
Lying on your front with your hands around the pillow, and your head turned to one side. Often gregarious and brash people, but can be nervy and thin-skinned underneath, and don’t like criticism, or extreme situations.

Starfish
Lying on your back with both arms up around the pillow. These sleepers make good friends because they are always ready to listen to others, and offer help when needed. They generally don’t like to be the centre of attention.

I find that half the time, I sleep in Foetus position … but it’s not complete, here’s more info below from the research

The remainder of those in the poll said the position they fell asleep varied or did not know.

Professor Idzikowski also examined the effect of various sleeping positions on health. He concluded that the freefall position was good for digestion, while the starfish and soldier positions were more likely to lead to snoring and a bad night’s sleep.

Professor Idzikowski said “Lying down flat means that stomach contents can more readily be worked back up into the mouth, while those who lie on their back may end up snoring and breathing less well during the night. “Both these postures may not necessarily awaken the sleeper but could cause a less refreshing night’s sleep.”

The research also found that most people are unlikely to change their sleeping position. Just 5% said they sleep in a different position every night.

So which sleep patten are you? Still unsure, just remind yourself that next morning to observe what sleep position you happen to be in when waking up, or get your partner to observe you. If you don’t have a partner to observe, I can volunteer :-p. Hahaha, just kidding. I had too much redbull in my system I guess, the brain has gone awry. Aite, hope this is informative …

Now, please oh body … let’s sleep!

    pls wear baju!

my mum told me to always sleep in the foetus position. because it is very sopan. some say the position actually keeps the Jin from pushing down on u.

for me, i think, i sleep in all the above mentioned positions except for the log position. its a very uncomfortable position to sleep in.

my favourite positon though is the one that look like how a spiderman would climb buildings.

anyway, im surprised people are actually paid to stay awake at night to observe others sleeping.

i usually wear singlet but lately boon lay side at night very hot la, my area.

Subconsciously we can tell our body how to sleep … being that our sleep pattern evolved millions of years back, when our primates ancestors were sleeping on trees, if we moved, we fall to the prey down at the ground … at times when i go camp, my body sleep pattern wun move around, as i know i dun wan to knock into the person beside me. i’ll tell myself that before i sleep, and i would do likewise

well its a research, its a paid effort to get the results ..
