Maybe I’m Amazed

Have you ever had a perfect day in your life. Well I recalled mine, sort of … I was a kid, no more than ten perhaps.

The gang was up to our mischievous ways, as all of us decided to climb the hill that overlooked our neighbourhood one fine day.

It was steep, and we all climbed without any gear. But it was FUN, and that particular memory stood out the most in all my childhood.

Why?

Because I was scared shitless but yet having the time of my life.

When I started out the climb, it was exhilarating, obviously I didn’t think of the consequences should any one of us slip and tumble down the hill.

I guess that’s why when we are kids, we are graced with huge amount of innocence and gullibility.

And aptly the loss of innocence as we grew up, we are then granted with an increase in humanity.

Time is funny indeed eh, its robs part of us, and grant us with something in return instead.

I couldn’t recall how long the climb took. I was one of the first few who started, but was the last to reach the summit. Being the youngest and smallest of the gang, well I took longer than the rest.

It was crazy thinking back at that climbing expedition, and as I passed the very same hill that I encountered sometimes during my daily jogs these days, I was amazed as I practically climbed eleven storey high with my very hands and on all four back then.

If you were to ask me to do it again now, I would call it suicide.

Still that memory reminds me of a perfect busy day of my childhood playing, and at times I wish I could have that back once again.

The kind of days that eliminates any doubts of higher power.
