Hahahahaha ...
Last week I gotten a short work stint with this company.
My job scope for such gig would usually be to come in, do my magic, wham bam, and thank you goodbye.
So to say, every time I get this type of job, it’s kinda a ‘nomadic’ kind of work I’ll be doing. Moving on to greener pastures at each projects commissioned.
It’s a love-hate kind of relationship with the career that I’ve chosen. I’m one that cannot conform to the 9-to-5 mundane work life, so I’m in this ‘carefree’ line of job.
It’s great, the creative freedom, working on my own terms, but the downside, basically there wouldn’t be any type of attachment, or will I form any kind of work relationship in my line of work.
But the last work gig I gotten was slightly different and kinda fun.
It kinda feeds on my ego, and this uncle became a ‘kid’ again for a moment … how?
Well the company had some interns there, and I practically hung out with them during lunches or the breaks that we have.
So no more lonely lunches, yeaaa.
They of course made fun of my Tupperware that I prepared my lunch for, but I’m alright with that. The ‘kids’ also keep smooching my expensive Japanese healthy chicken too!! Dei … Hahaha.
I was even mistaken for an intern in fact a few times! Kekekeke, hidung kembang ni!!
I didn’t quite mix with the full-timers, they’re all always so bloody serious man. I hate the office politics, you can see a fake smile from a mile away. There’s a stark difference in the attitudes.
Well is it just me, or does anyone has the same thought process as me, where I always feel like I’m a 13 year old trapped in a 30 year old body. I think I’ve not ‘grown up’ since 1992.
Maybe that’s why I was hanging out with the ‘kids’ eh. At least they’re up front and honest.
And we totally clicked man. That was a fun week for me … It’s been awhile since I laughed so much.
Of course it all ended too soon when my work was done, and when I parted ways, we planned to keep in touch.
I’ll try my best to do so of course lah, but as you guessed it, I’m moving on to another ‘pasture’.
hahah… i know exactly hw u feel!!! to the extent tt my poly frens always had to tell me, can you pls act your age bt of course in a joking manner.. :P…. and OH.. work politics!!!! tt’s one thing tt i hate… bt well which is inevitable.. :P
oh n btw… there’s gd and bad to being in a nomadic position… you can make a lot of new frens.. get exposed to so many different environment and pastures… and opportunities.. bt the cons is… you knw sometimes when you juz began to get used to things, you know tt you will need to move on to the next pasture and doing all over the things such as making new frens… etc etc… bt well.. all the best of luck to you!!! :P
Well I guess we’re all young at heart.
It does help that we still look ‘young’ kan.
All that exercise is doing wonders for us, while others are ‘aging’.
YESSAH!!!! hahha… cheers to exercising!!! :P
