Plagiarizing is pretty much common and rampant in the blogosphere
More or less there’s isn’t anything original that can be blogged these days, and thus we see the same old thing being ‘regurgitated’ on ABC and XYZ blogs out there
I had my recent outing with my blogger groupie and I can share their exact sentiments of being ‘violated’ when our entries was copied word for word
I understand the need for bloggers to read other blogs for ideas and inspiration, but when a bloggers decided to lift off the whole blog entry, or perhaps just add a slight changes to it and put their name shameless stamped behind it, I think that’s blatant ‘blasphemy’
I’ve seen countless entries of mine floating around, be it exact replication word for word or a variation of it. Oh yes I may not comment on your blog or email you informing of your moronic plagiarizing, I would prefer to sit behind my desk and chuckle at your effort to be ‘me’
I don’t even mind people using my photos or using paragraphs of my entries, as long there’s acknowledgments. Please give credit where and when it’s due lah
I’m not talking about those spam blogs that feeds off our RSS, but actual blogger who took the time to read our blogs and thought, “Hey this is interesting … I don’t think this blogger won’t mind or knows my blog, I think I can safely copy his work”
WRONG PAL!
The thing about cyberspace, despite its so called ‘vastness’ of information superhighway, it’s actually a rather ‘bitchy’ close-knit place
We bloggers read, we archive, we bookmark, we bitch and we spread the news around …
You might not be aware, but despite your confidence and efforts in being secretive, lay low below the radar and being anonymous, people have a way to unravel your identity or finding your blog and entries
Anyway I’ve never believe in installing those CopyScape thingie or protect intellectual property mark on my blog. If people want to ‘steal’ something from you, and if they’re adamantly persistent, you can’t really stop them
Only when people starts to copy you, it just shows that you’ve reach an authority figure in the blogging world and ‘fofular’ as one of my sewaktunye bloggers says
Do I want to be popular in the first place … NO!
Am I a role model … NO!
Do I have thunder thighs … YES!
Am I horny now … YES! ooops how did that get there :p
I’m just being myself and being ORIGINAL
There’s only one Uncle Sha and he blogs exclusively here
