Dog Saves Owner from Mountain Lion

I’ve a soft spot for animals, and in this world, there’s four things you give your utmost unconditional love to: Family, girlfriend, pets and soccer.

Alright don’t mind the last one, haha … but I stumbled onto a news post today that I had to share.

via article, “A loyal dog named Hoagie earned his keep Tuesday afternoon when he saved his owner from an attack by a mountain lion in the Cleveland National Forest in Orange County, California. Orange County Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino says William and Candy Morse were walking near the Blue Jay campground with their Labrador retriever when a mountain lion appeared on the trail ahead of them and charged the man.

The dog intervened and was badly mauled fighting off the big cat. Hoagie underwent surgery at a local veterinary hospital and is expected to survive. Authorities closed off the camping area while they searched for the mountain lion. Amormino told the “Los Angeles Times” that “there’s no question the dog saved his life.”

William Morse agrees, saying, quote, “man’s best friend did prevail and I love him alot.”

Very cool right. A pet they saved ends up saving the owners. I was glad the dog survived. I couldn’t really find any photos or videos related to it, but I’ll upload it once there’s media footage on it. I want to know what the dog looks like lah. The report says its a Labrador retriever. That’s cute.
