Misconception

Sha February 24, 2007 8

As the saying goes, “Looks can sometimes be deceiving”.

This is so when human nature would usually always “size up” a person within that second of a glance by how that person portrayed himself with his outlook or behavior.

We all do, and most of the time, truth be told, our assumption are always wrong.

The thing is, I was chatting up a lady friend on MSN awhile back and she mentioned that she assumed from the way I’m heavily built, and the sporty activities that I’m involved, she assumed that I’m a ‘bruiser‘.

You know, the rough, macho-man, loud talking kind.

She was kinda surprised when I didn’t match up to that when we met.

Those close to me will know in-fact I’m quite the opposite. I’m quiet, don’t like to be the center of attention, hates crowds (unless it’s clubbing ;-p), soft-spoken and I prefer to be in the background and low profile rather than being in the “spotlight”.

All of us are unique in our own ways and different due to our upbringing and culture, so I guess the next time you go about harboring any assumption about anyone, well bear in mind of another famous saying, which goes like this, “Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups”

Hehe. I somehow always buttoned you in as the shy quiet type. Even though you’re fun and an athlete and all. DEFINITELY not a bruiser.
