Ok here’s an update on Youth.sg blogging competition for which my blog is taking part. 50% of overall winner depends on the 5 judges marks while the other 50% depends on the number of online votes.
Now I’m updating you on the final marks of the 5 judges. So far my blog stands in 6th position. That means I need your votes badly to catapult me to the top!

Judging observation
From my observation, the judging is somewhat ‘flawed’. There inconsistency in the scoring. For example, how could a judge give zero marks to a blogger. I mean surely some effort goes into it, even one has suspicions it’s ‘plagarised’.
Oh please, most of the blog content we see nowadays are ‘recycled’ stuff. It’s only different and not deemed ‘recycled’ as it’s being blogged in our own style, plenty of paraphrasing.
Well anyway sometimes what we blogged, it has already been covered by someone somewhere. I’ve always never liked a scoring system, very much reminds me of my fugly school phase! I would rather go with a ranking system instead.
But then again, these judges are veteran bloggers, some are even awarded ‘International Award’, so they cannot be ‘wrong’ right. Must respect & ‘kowtow’ to their final judging? Yah right my ass ……
Heya other Top 19 bloggers, don’t let these judges marks dictate how you blog. Stay true to form. True judging can subjective, but the way the marks are being handed out by some judges, it’s totally skewed in such drastic range of variation between the ‘top/lower’ end bloggers
Worthy winner
I really would like to see thegreatsize to win. Of course I want to win myself lah, but if I’m not the deserving winner, the title of #1 blogger in Singapore and some say JB, should go to this guy.
Other notables
Well other entries are good too, but they’re not in the league of thegreatsze I’m sorry to say. Yes it’s abit lengthy, wordy and you really need to focus on the text itself being presented.
Being an Uncle, even with my not so ‘powderful’ Engrish I really appreciate his article. I believe blogging is not about the superficial design, looks, glittery images but how an entry can ‘move’ you.
Even you’ve no such experience in that certain particular topic being presented, if it happen to either make you say “hey, that’s profound”, well the blog entry has serve it’s purpose.
