I’m part of an Exco Committee

Sha August 26, 2007 14

I’ve always been an anti participant of CCA or clubs.

I just hate having the extra responsibility or added roles to my already abundant list of things to-do.

People have asked or nominated me for such position umpteen times, and I would decline.

Only on rare occasion I would accept the role, but the last position I held, was like eons ago; vice-president it was.

Now I am in one again! Hahaha … not VP, but some position in a committee

Sha what the hell are you thinking. You should be clearing my modules rather going for meetings. Anyway why am I typing in third person. Hehehe

Err well anyway, the first meeting I skipped lah, heh … damn tired after training, I can’t be bothered to go.

Anyway I won’t disclose which club it is in NTU.

Some IT club I think, I’m still not sure what they are …

My friend kinda asked me, so I said yes.

I was probably high on something when I agreed.

Hmm it might be good for my portfolio in-fact, at least something I can ‘brag’ against my pathetic academic grades, well during interviews.

Wish me luck …

Yup it’s good for de portfolio indeed. Cos being an ordinary CCA member sometimes just doesnt cut it, man..I learnt it de hard way. UNexcellent academic results, and then under CCA list, just ordinary member…aiyo….I wasnt in any exCo. But actually i was once in a (sports) school team, but even before any tournament, i left the team & became ordinary member instead. The reason was kind of silly lah; i ‘cudnt be bothered’ 2 go for extra training. Plus my test grades were suffering; i figured i need de extra time to revise instead. Many yrs down de road, when scouring for jobs, i kind of regret that decision…hehehe..

      thanks for the ‘tip’

i guess that little added sparkle in our portfolio probably will give us an edge over other applicants

Totally with you, extra responsibilities pull you down, and on top of it half of the efforts go in vane and the some flourish. But good for your future prospects, a good zing to counter act your poor grades, :-D
