Fasting in NTU

Sha September 13, 2007 43

Today mark the first day of the Puasa month, and at times like this, I do really miss home cooked meals. I started the day with instant noodles, bread with Nutella spread and a cup of milk. Yeah not much of a breakfast eh.

But then again, when I was at home during the fasting month, it was no different lah.

Dad will sometimes try to buy some food the night before, but usually it’s crappy food. We usually tended to our own food. But however when Grandma is in town, she would cook the bestest food ever man! When I’m supposed to lose weight during this time of the month, I’ll gain an extra kilo or two, haha!

My little sister do cook herself but more of the pasta and healthy diet kind of spread. She don’t really cook often but when she does, it will be like a mini majlis (buffet).

You can say I’m kinda deprived on home cooked food for like the longest time ever! That’s why when friends invite me over to their houses, I’ll always look forward to their mums cooking. I do miss mum’s sambal goreng and laksa, so don’t take for granted what your mummy cooked for ya eh!

Anyway not many Muslim at my Hall, all if not most are those from Indonesia. They speak like a whole new language to me, even it is Bahasa.

This is the first time, I’ll be so called away from home during the fasting month for the longest time. The other occasion was during my National Service stint. I wonder hows my overseas Muslim friends and mates are coping. Cicak!

Well as some of you might felt, the quake tremors was felt last night. I was all the way in Boon Lay. I was in my Hall room and I could clearly feel the table trembling. When I asked my roommate if he felt it too, he said “Got mah?” No feeling lah my roomie

Then the next morning around 7.40am, I think it was the aftershock. Again I could felt the tremor even more infact. This time my roomie did noticed the tremors. I told him, if anything were to happen, we could use our sprinting talent to save some damsel in distress from the buildings.

He lamely replied, “You’re getting more and more desperate”

And yes, the whole of yesterday my blog was down, and if it does again, well it’s due to the high server usage. I just hope I don’t need to get a dedicated server. It cost a bomb!

Did anyone miss my blog? :p

man i longed to feel whats it like to experience earthquake tremors. i told my father, now engineers need to make buildings in singapore tremor safe, eventhough we’ve never had earthquakes before. we’re in the mercy of indonesia. -.-

btw, i hate to admit this.. but yeah… i really miss your blog! felt sad last night i couldnt access it. :(
