Having twenty four hours in a day for me, well it’s very much fully utilised in every sense. If only the day could stretchhhhhhhhhh far longer than it could, I think that would be splendid. I could sleep a wee bit longer or add an extra activity to my daily routine … only in the ‘Matrix’ eh. Well here’s how I spend my typical school day.
6.50am – My handphone alarm clock kicks in. Sprawled half naked and cosy in bed, I would always snooze the alarm all the way to 7.15am. I can’t even recalled that I even snoozed the alarm that many times. Damn I’ve gotta work on that. With much hesitation, I’ll getup, make my bed, looked in the mirror and without fail I’ll scare myself with my morning look. With my eyes half closed I’ll blindly search for my contact lens in the closet and putting it on is another difficult matter when your eyes doesn’t cooperate. I’ll then slip into my tights, blazer, cap, and applied some sun block and off I’ll go for my morning run.

7.15am – I just love this time of the day, the early morning air is cooling, the streets is vacant except for the public buses perfect for a run, and the sun can be seen peeking over the horizon indicating to all that a brand new day beckons. Coming down from my room, I’ll do some warmup to awake my still slumber body. Hand and head rotation, some jumping and abit of stretching. I usually observed, that the only few souls up this morning are mostly girls. Probably preparing for the 8.30am morning class. Hmm the early bird eh, kinda affirm my assumption that girls takes longer to get ready eh?

7.34am – My running route consist of a loop, where I’ll run the bus 199 route. I’ll alternate daily to either take the clockwise or anticlockwise route. More or less the run is around 17 minutes if I ‘pia’ on a fast paced timing. But today I took 19 minutes, slower than usual as probably I was too tired from yesterday 400m circuit workout. ‘Kanasai’ my average per lap for yesterday workout still lose out to my training partner, haizz. I must keep on pushing for a better time next week. By the time I reached my hall at the end of my taxing run, I’ll cool down awhile in the carpark and do some hips exercises. The auntie and uncle who tends to the cleaning of the hall common area will arrive by around this time on their scooter. We’ll smile and acknowledged each other, the couple probably used to seeing me daily in the morning by now hopefully will not think who’s this cuckoo doing exercises this early morning. I’ll then head back to my room right about now.
7.50am – After consuming my whey protein, cereal and popping my pills in my room, I’ll again meet the auntie and uncle when I visit the pantry. They’re making some breakfast while for me I’ll top-up my water bottle and washup my utensils for which I used earlier for my breakfast. I’ll then head back to my room, rushing to prepare my bread with peanutbutter spread for brunch later in school, and at the same time tossing notes and books into my bag. Multi-tasking is very important when you enter university as I’ve told someone recently. Shower is next.
8.30am – Around this time, I’m all ready to leave my room. Last minute check … ipod, handphone, wallet, water bottle, snacks, am I wearing undies?, keys, cap, OK all present!

8.40am – I’ll arrive at Lee Wee Nam library right about now and I’ll head to my usual spot. I’ve this favourite studying area at level two. I just love this area as it’s located at one secluded corner. It has a PC terminal table and behind it, is a studying area. So when I need to review online lectures, I’ll use the PC terminal and if i need more space, I’ll move to the study area. The thing about my school, it’s quite hard to find good spots to study if you arrive late at the library or any other study areas in the school. Everyone is so ‘sibe on’ competitive here. That’s why this kiasu of an Uncle rushes to ‘book’ his study area the very moment the library opens. You’ve to be ‘fast’ here or you’ll lose out!
Brunch to Afternoon – Within this timespan, I’ll usually catch up on missed lectures I’ve skipped, some tutorials to finish up and in between I’ll surf my usually IAAF or Soccernet websites. If I have classes, I’ll leave my stuff in the library and head on for my lesson. It’s quite safe to leave your stuff here, but be wary of your valueables. That I bring along. Today however, I had a pleasant sms from Yanni. She’s going panicky as her blog has problems. Very da cute la she. I might say this lady has been progressing well with each and every design. I tried helping as much as I can.
2.30pm – I don’t go for my lunch lately as I’m on a tight budget. My supposed MOE bursary and study loan has yet to be deposited into my account! There was some ‘cockup’ on the admin side. This is really fcuking pisses me off as I’ve been waiting for the past month plus for it. I’m really depending on it, as I’m unable to work part-time as school schedule has been shitty lately. I’m now relying on my ‘reserves’ now. I even had to come down to the Student Affairs couple of times to sort it out or nothing was done. They’ll probably forget about it. I’m really stretchinggggggggg my budget now, so bradas no more outing or chill session for me ok. Around this too, I left school as I needed to go to Singapore Poly to hand-in my website. I’ve entered a website design competition.
3.30pm – I arrived Singapore Polytechnic, my old alma matta. My clubbing buddy Hairol, and my blogger peeps such as Carine, Alec, Hak, Anu, Mardiah, Dawn, Suzy, fizzy are from here too. It’s still the same old crappy school, nothing changed except for the newly built building beside the EEE faculty. I was still surprised the gantry point that was placed in 2004 is still not in use, then why build it? The school was deserted, poly students having holidays now eh? The website competition I entered is called TICE. You see a preview of it online here
4.30pm – I arrived back in school. Met up awhile with my best school bud, Denan, for some makan. We were from the same lab project group in our Year 1, and we bonded since then. He’s still single ladies! We parted and I continued with my revision at the library. One more quiz left and then the impending exams. I can almost ‘smell’ it!
9.15pm – The libary closes around 9.30pm but the comm system will start hailing indicating over and over again that’s it’s closing time in another 15 minutes. Annoys the hell out of me! I’ll start packing right about now. I’ll visit the loo for the last time. Along the way out, I’ll buy two cheeseburgers at Mac and I’ll slowly head back to my Hall.
9.30pm – Unpacking my bag is not as much fun as packing it in my opinion. Once back in my room, I’ll get ready for training. My second training session for the day. But since I’m likely having time trial this Saturday, today is off day as given by the ‘advisor’. Yeaaaaa. So it’s back to checking my mails, watching some YouTube clips while I munch on my cheeseburger. Then it’s back hitting the books.
11.30pm – It’s about time of the day to eat my second dosage of supplements before shower time. Once everything is all sorted out for the next day and I’m clean and smelling good, it’s zzzZZ time around midnight … Right about now in bed, in my mind, I’m telling myself not to snooze my alarm, haha.
Well that’s my typical day. Boring as you might think, but that’s my phase in life that I’m going through now.

Well spent dae eh.. Seriusly come to think of it.. Too many things to be done, but to little time.. Haizz.. Urghh.. Exams nearing~

Hmm so that’s a typical day huh?
Here i thought u’d sumhow spend more time on werkin out or sumthin.
Gez not?
Or is it diff every day? Ur routine, i mean.
Hehz sorie for askin this much; i’m interested to noe abt this kinda stuff.
;)
Btw, linked u up redi liao!
yup thats most of the time my routine daily
i train daily except sundays … each day has different training exercise
doing track is not just about run around the stadium, thats the big misconception about many people
we do weights at gym, plyo at grass, hurdles on track, blocks on track, slopes at hills, trail at roads/reservoirs, etc … so it’s a mixture of training types to complete and complement our training
but dun overtrain or forget the recovery part .. esp the recovery. mainly by rest, sleep, massage and supplements
work on the mind too … thats another training
:-)
typically boring~
hahahahaa…!!
ohhh…. poor you having to chope good study seats. well…. kiasu-ism rocks! =p
and yes… poly having their holidays now. and yes, that gantry at SP is soooo pointless and an eyesore.
well i’m boring on the weekedays … wanna know my weekend? meowwwww … haha :-p
yeay SP rocks my socks! NOT. Yeah we’re having our rilek one korner and hibernate period for two months and it’s killing me softly bebeh. urgh.
so holidays around the corner for u too?
wat you’re complaining!! enjoy la!! wah lao budak ni
my hols in one month plus time … its 3 month holiday! weeeeee
Ur typical day seems OK to me.However, mentioning bout SP, makes me mish SP so very much.heheh…Take care.
yeah obviously i’m no superman …
yeah i miss SP too, no matter how crappy it is
Looks like a tiring day. I dont know if I can even get through the first hour. Nak jogging pun dah tak larat.
The website looks really nice :) Good luck on the competition!
well the thing about exercise …i dun see it as a ‘thing’ to be done. it’s part of my lifestyle, i liken it as if its part of my daily routine such as shower and sleeping. think of it that way
yeah i’m hoping its gonna be a good competition … i kinda spent a long time on it. about 1 day
training & supplements doing u good i see.
well aniway,
all-comers this sunday?
what events?
i might be coming down to watch my friends. =)
my training group not running … ‘advisor’ say we’re not ready
but i’m coming down too. support my frens and take pics!
see u there, say hi to me tau!
hhhhmmmm…
so taxing huh ur day???!!!!
eh, i also got problem sia with my running..
i was feeling so tired and exhausted from my last gym treadmill session..
i can literally feel my heart exploding!!
wahahahahahha…
tired sia..
why ah??
issit becos i dont have much rest????
eh, ur diet is not good sia!!… must eat properly okay???
hope u get ur bursary money or whatever the people are supposed to pay you soon… :)
the exercise part i can take it. i love it
its the study part that’s taxing … boleh naik giler
my diet is ok la. as long i eat my supps i can rely on my high metabolism to rectify my bad eating stuff. but once i hit that 30 plus age, haha no more … we’ll see how
if you do a running session on treadmill, are you doing it again the next day. alternate days or do another routine ok. if it’s about being too tired to do anything the next day, well try to check if you’re having enough recovery. check ur meals, sleep hour (quality not quantity) and mental state
if your heartbeat is too fast, it’s not used to the kind of ‘pressure’ u’re putting urself on. the good thing about the heart, it can adapt well …. but not in that short within timespan. must be gradual. check ur pulse rate. if its beyond the max limit for ur age, slow down. gradual training ok bro
yeah good news, i got my bursary today … maybe they read my blog? hahahaha …
I have to roll over land on my knees, curse the floor and rub the joints, scowl at the beeping alarm clock, brush teeth, wash face, sing a song, change, pakai kasot blapok, take a deep breath of fresh air, kiss my kitty and try to not die running at 5am hahhahahaha!!!
I just..have this paranoid feeling that people watches me when I run..kinda odd but I feel so malu la HAHHA!!
So 5am la.. later than that i takmo=S
wah you betul betul bersandiwara so early at 5am eh … but good initiative! You’re on your way to a better you … if only i got kitty to kiss!
yes of course ppl watch other ppl who runs. that’s a fact. we just need to focus on our run jer. or get a running partner, less malu?
But man… you run the loop?! So far…I run halfway da pancit..
yup the loop da loop … then go slow n gradual if pancit :-)
Actually i asked u abt the upper body thing because my friend said I shouldn’t run too much when my legs are not proportionate with my upper body.
Abit scary cause the cricking joint lessened when I took a break from runs last week. Ok jogs. Runs is for you.
Right. Should stop spamming lest you feel like slapping my forehead lol!
nonsense la … cardio eg jogging is the best way to lose weight, which equates leveling off that upper body disproportional
if you don’t do cardio, how are you to lose weight? … only when you’ve lost that weight, focus on some toning to make it looked more ‘lean’ n defined
one thing to offset the cricket sounds …
1) glucosamine which will take effect in 2-3 months but must take consistent.
2) good shoes, dun buy capalang trainers please. pay abit extra more. good shoes distribute the impact force from the ground to your shin to your knees and so on … thus minimize any further damage. also get the right shoe for your feet type. impt … good links http://www.runnersworld.co.za/training/archive/oct2_2005.php http://www.thefinalsprint.com/2006/06/your-foot-type-a-simple-test-to-find-out/ knowing what foot type you can determine what shoes to buy, i recommend New balance which is cheaper. if you got the $, go for mizuno & asics
3) running style. make sure you’re running right. dun slouch, etc … http://www.posetech.com/
cheers
Such a long long looooooong day… Ur schedule is much busier than I thought. Dah macam CEO of a company… LOL.
Anyway, word of advice: If u study hard, dun forget to play hard too. Must balance mah. ;)
elo bro!
yeah the only play time i have is my training time … i just love it. kalau nak chill, jangan harap la for me during weekedays. weekend i party, if i have the $$
:-)
architecture = awesomeness
nice pics of SP
it’s a pretty big school yes … I like business faculty best, for its obvious reason known only to SP guys, haha :-p
haha!! Yalor..I’ll give you a kitty if i can but I sayang all my 12 babies=) Right!! Shall check that out! My best friend have been pestering me to get mizuno but adoiiiiiii so ex…Siapa la nak bangun pukul 5 pagi to run with me?! or 6? or 7? hahah!!I’ve just started taking glucosamine actually hee=) dapat ngecek my mom HAHHAHAHA!!!
Can’t wait for my Datok K to datang man hahahha!! then can also sponsor you your kasot HAHAHHAHHA!!!!!
waduh tak malu ker ngecek ibu? … haha .. ngecek means = share kan?
if you ada Datok K, i nak Datin K! … i dun wan he sponsor me, then i’ve to do nasty thing for him … eywww!
