I’ve been lately reading few issues of @NTU magazine, and it doesn’t much add-up being a magazine in my opinion. I know lah the university enrollment period is coming up and NTU trying to outdo NUS in terms of rankings and getting more students signing up courses at NTU
But I found that the magazine likens more to a ‘propaganda machine’ seh. Corny keywords will never fail to appears like “the best, number one, world’s first, potential Nobel, etc”, maybe trying to brainwash dumbass struggling student like me that I’m indeed the best, a future Nobel laureate perhaps?
There will always be articles on important dignitaries visiting NTU or some super achievers, highly gifted foreign students, eh how about your ‘normal joe’? I want to see an article piece, that most heartlands students can relate to. In my opinion, a measure of someone ‘success’ is not only in his academics but an overall development of the student while at the institution.
Also I never fail to notice how the Malays are blatantly ignored in the magazine. This issue not even one picture of a Melayu. I’m sure there’s some clever over-achiever Malay in NTU they can interview.
The only thing that saved this magazine issue is the article on the NTU lecturer who’s a hit on YouTube. Read and download the magazine from the link I’ve provided above to know more about this dude. He’s absolute dahling and I’ve added the infamous video of his rise to fame below!
I do hope the next Issue will be ‘better’ but I doubt so …

Saya 100% sokong.
As much as I would like to believe that, we’ve to come to reality employers will look at grades & which ranked institution you’re from first
