As an Anak Melayu Singapura, despite the ‘fulfilling your life’ claims; seeking material pursuits is still important here
We’ve been ‘taught’ and influenced by the 5Cs. Condo, Car, Credit Card and such. Of course I’ve none of those obviously now. The first thing on my agenda is paying back my education loan which is quite significant
Next on my list is having a tangible asset. Most likely I want to get my own place. It doesn’t need to be fancy, a three room sounds nice
Staying and paying in a rental place currently gives me the insecurity feeling ya know. I need to have an asset that I can fall back on to no matter what
All my life I’ve worked doubly hard to get where I am now; I dare to say more likely than others. Nothing has been given to me on a silver platter and as proof, I’ve nothing on my back but the clothes I have and few boxes containing my belongings
Sometimes I do envy others who had it easy, but that’s life. It’s about how hard you can get hit and still keep on going. I think that’s me .. “perseverance”

I hope I could inspire u. Actually life is not so bad if you care to plan and doa. I was an orphan at the age of six mths. J have 6 sibling and my eldest sister was 12 then. We struggled by selling kueh around kampung. There was no welfare NGO at that times way back in 1962.
With sheer determination and hard work, now I lead a life quite comfortably. having a double storey at bb and a house in perth. more than 100K saving and also 100K worth of shares. Not to forget 150K of insurance, and other investments, all these I achieved through my own hardwork with careful planning and thrifty in my expenses.
Being Muslim, we have a very powerful tools that is doa. Remember to pray and doa every now and then and you can achive what I have achieved and hopefully more. I hope u can have hope as I did many years ago.
