Foreign Workers Integration

Looks like we Singaporeans have to start accepting the way of life here regarding our foreign imports. The gahmen ain’t budging on their stance pertaining to the issue of foreign workers open door policy.

Personally I feel the influx is way too much for us to cope, where one could just observe in plain sight at our over-burdened infrastructure, from the over-crowding at the MRT stations, to the demands exceeding the supply in the housing market.

Here’s an idea below which could appease the locals, by making these foreign talents integrate much better.

1. Learn the song “Things So Singaporean”

Aside than learning our national song of ‘Majulah Singapura’, the foreign workers could sing a song that truly describe what makes a Singaporean.

2. Learn Singlish

There should be courses that prepares the foreign workers on the language we’re most comfortable with, Singlish. To the clueless, it’s a Singapore Colloquial English. Watch the below video. It may sound crude, and it somewhat sounds violent, but no, this is how we truly resolve our disagreement in Singapore. The means justifies the end.

3. Respect local laws

Again when I’m out and about, at times I would encounter foreign workers who would ‘force’ their own set of culture mentality on us and on our soil. Just take a look at Boon Lay station during the weekend, it’s littered like nobody business. It couldn’t be us, as we Singaporean are an obedient bunch of ‘drones’.

After years of the various subliminal propaganda campaigns by the gahmen , we are ‘trained’ not to litter, fully knowing Singapore is a FINE city. I think there should be a compressed version of all the national campaigns we had since the 70′s taught and shown to our foreign workers.

4. Respect local cultures

I think we locals have already been accommodating enough with our foreign workers, they’ve already taken our jobs, and we even let them took our girls as these ang-mohs have to a point carved out new local cultures such as the Sarong Party Girls (SPG).

So the least they could do is accommodate us too. Respect local cultures, be patient, and keep an open mind. It doesn’t mean you’re working here, it means that you’re much better qualified than us eh. It’s just that you cost much cheaper to employ.
